This year's Watchtower creatively chronicals the events and impres- sions of a very special year in the growing story of this school. Soon the year will become history and we will look back upon our time togeth- er with nostalgia. Many of our approaches to learning have changed and we have seen many opportunities for the in- creased involvement of students in meaningful learning activities out- side the traditional classroom. This is good, but also is the rebirth of loyalty, credibility and mutual cooperation. Yes, The more things remain the same, the more they change after all. Dr. F. Willard Robinson Principal headmasters and pedagogues 0 twenty-one

Melvin Spitz lVlr. Herbert Young twenty 0 headmasters and pedagogues Alvin Toffler describes change as the process by which the future in- vades our lives and he suggests it is important to look at it closely, not merely from the grand perspec- tives of history, but also from the vantage point of the living, breath- ing individuals who experience it. In the years immediately ahead for you, change promises to be dra- matic. lf it is a truism that more has happened to man, his environ- ment, his world, and his relation- ships during the past 62 years than in the 799 lifetimes or almost 50,000 years that preceded, then one can rightfully expect that the next lifetime of 62 years will sprint by with the speed of lighten- ing. The emancipation of the 18 year old with many overdue rights under- lines new responsibilities. As the pace of change and human require- ments continue to accelerate even more dramatically it will become in- creasingly your problem to cope with, and hopefully master, the un- finished agenda facing IVIAN-that of realizing Paul Brandwein's pri- orities for your lifetimes the ideals of truth, beauty, justice, love and faith. If you succeed, peace, positive human relationships and resolution of the environmental problems - and - survival will be the reward. It's worth working for! Good Luck! lVlr. Kenneth L. Peters Superintendent of Schools
