Beverly Hills High School has taken a maior step in the promotion of international friendship. The Acapulco- Beverly Hills educational exchange program of 1967 was named the best in the United States by the Reader's Digest Foundation and the Town Affiliation Association. Elementary and high school students were involved in a five phase program. Sponsored by Mr. Robert Holmes and Mrs. Rena Hubbard, Beverly's Madrigal singers xllllllllllli ll ' QL I S fo is 4 1 toured Acapulco in April. Elementary and high school students visited the homes of Acapulco families during summer studies and Mexican students attended special classes in Beverly Hills. A teacher exchange brought Sr. Alberto Alcaraz from Acapulco while Mr. Neo Gutierrez and Mrs. Maria Hulse accompanied students to Mexico. Since the inception of the sister-city program there have been many interchanges of ideas and information. When the Madrigals toured Acapulco in April both sponsors and students were greeted most warmly. They- furnished both entertainment and inspiration. Acapulco students played happily at a picnic in Coldwater Canyon Park before studies began. 16
