Each year at Christ- mas time, Normans visit our little sister school, Albion Street. Tradition- ally, the Fall Student Body President dons the garb ot iolly old Saint Nick and entertains the children. i The initial assembly of the year was a commemoration of Veteran's Day. Under the direction of Mr. Allen Klotz, these talented forensic students spoke-Robert Kislinger, Robert Post, Nate Halprin, Harriet Steinbaum, Richard Brenner, Neal Spiegel, Diane Rosenbaum. On Thanksgiving the fine young choir from Albion Street School sang for our student body. After the assembly the young singers enioyed lunch in our cafe- teria. Veteran's Day, The beautiful Christmas assembly was a presentation of Amahl and the Night Visitors. l i 4 AFS Dedicated to extending the bonds of friendship, the exchange students spend a year in their adopted countries 9' -.mr 'wsu While Nancy Treusch lived in Argentina as an AFS student, she wrote home: One of the grandest high- lights of my trip and greatest satisfaction of my AFS experience will be my returning and sharing my new ideas, hopes, -and ideals with all of you. lf I can iust be one link adding to the forces uniting the peoples of In Marcel Smets' first speech to Beverly students he said, l believe in the l AFS program that under- standing among young people of different na- tionalities must bring com- prehension among the dif- ferent nations of this earth. When Marcel Smets returns to Belgium, we trust he will have much of interest to relate to his friends. l 1 8 all the world. I'll feel that l've quite successfully fulfilled my duty as an AFSer. I want to thank all of you with all my heart for giving me the incredible opportunity to grow and mature as a person, and to extend and ex- change love, hopes, problems, and prayers with people of another country.
