Mr. Sparks instructs his class in study skills. ,v Ninety regular courses adhering to the fine standards traditional at Beverly are offered to Normans, carefully pre- paring them for college or careers fol- lowing high school. In addition, a pro- gram has been set up for the academi- cally able. Honor classes are offered in English, social studies, mathematics, chemistry, physics, Latin, Spanish, German, and French. Seminars, which comprise four groups of eighteen stu- dents each and one group at each grade level, provide another stimulus to intellectual growth. Summer school courses are designed to project the student's thinking beyond the high school level. An accelerated plan has been adopted to enable the more tal- ented seniors to take university courses at UCLA in addition to their senior work.

Eg' It is certainly not, all work and no play at Beverly. Many extra - curricular activities are provided for Normans. School dances, sponsored by classes and organizations, are held in the Swim Gym, the Student Lounge, or the nearby luxury hotels. Club life is encouraged through faculty-sponsored campus groups. All students are urged to join a club which in some Way contributes to their interests or needs. School plays, musicals, and talent assemblies provide an opportunity for those interested in music, dance, and drama. Most popular of all activities are student body and intramural sports.
