PRINCIP L g 1 ---f- Kenneth L. Peters, Principal A recent publication of national prominence opened with these words: The greatness of a nation may be manifested in many ways-in its purposes, its courage, its moral responsibility, its cultural and scientific em- inence, the tenor of its daily life. But ultimately the source of its greatness is in the individuals who constitute the living substance of the nation. Approximately 360 members of the class of 1959 will don the symbol of graduation, the cap and gown, this June. As a class you must analyze your worth by assaying the purposes, courage, moral responsibility, cultural and scientific eminence, and the tenor of your day to day existence at Beverly. But that analysis is not enough. Each of you must hold a convention of one and determine how you measure up as an individual in the im- portant attributes of character and academic performance. l think it is safe to say that your educational accomplishments have been substantial. Further, there is every evidence that your physical, social, and moral development has been consistent with your obiectives. The true measure of how well you have met your responsibilities as a Class and as individuals, however, can best be indicated by your accomplishments in the future. By awarding you the diploma of graduation we have evidenced our confidence that you have met your re- sponsibilities to date and that you are prepared to do so in the future. lf you represent yourself well in your post high school experiences you will represent your Class and Beverly well. Best of luck! Kenneth L. Peters x Q J Q PEQQ-ac? :-1 fa l5 W ,,.,,s X
