Reese, Mrs. George Seaton, Mr. Ernest Ach. BOARD OF EDUCATIDN i t Mr. Walter O. Willey, Assistant Superintendent, Mr. R. G. Mitchell, Superintendent, Mr. Kenneth L. Peters, Assistant Superintendent, Curriculum. -qt The Beverly Hills School System is essentially a story of people interested in public education. Our school system, as in the past, will be determined by people who make responsible deci- sions, people with wisdom, sound iudgment, and vision. This nation has grown strong and great in the same climate that has made mass public education flourish. lt means the kind of intellectual prep- aration that the nation is willing to give its heirs to equip them for lives of usefulness and strong responsibili- ties as American citizens. The Beverly Hills Board of Educa- tion, administrators, and fine faculties have built, over the years, an out- standing school system - a system of education that is second to none in the nation. Courses of study and curriculum are kept under constant surveillance to meet the ever changing needs of our students-intellectually and physical- ly. Our students, as a result, will be- come superior individuals to our com- munity and our country.

PRIN IPAL With the close of a school year most of us find ourselves mentally taking stock of the months iust past and thoughtfully proi- ecting our hopes and plans for the future. I think it is safe to say that our educa- tional accomplishments have been sub- stantial. Further, there is every evidence that our physical, social, and moral de- velopment has been consistent with our obiectives. The true measure of how well we have cooperatively met our responsibilities in the past, however, can best be indicated by our accomplishments in the future. The opportunities have never been greater or have the problems been more defined than those facing the generation now moving through our secondary schools. The con- quest of space and the uncovering of the mysteries of science place an urgency of regard for and understanding of man's responsibility to man on a pedestal of wisdom far above those issues faced by previous generations. That the members of the Class of '58 have the tools, the qualities, and the character to assist in resolving these issues cannot be questioned. Your challenge is to put these tools and qualities to work for productive, worthwhile, positive solu- tions. ln this regard, we have every con- fidence that you will represent yourself and Beverly well. Best of luck! ff-en 4. ef
