Order in the court, says Chief Justice Steve Rykoff as Student Court begins another session. The purpose of the Court is to have students judged by their peers, rather than by faculty members. The associate iustices, who are appointed by the student body president, carefully consider each case that is brought before them. Cutting seventh period, going off-bounds, and conduct unbecom- ing a Norman are the most frequent violations. Offenders are sentenced to loss of Norman Points, detention, and suspension. Girls' Adviser Mrs. Pauley, and Boys' Adviser Dr. French, sit in on the sessions but never partici- pate in the actions of the Court. The bi-weekly sessions are open to anyone who wishes to observe the Court in action.
