Under the leadership of Presidents Ann Hahn and Beverly Grant the Girls' Athletic Association provided an active year of fun and service for the students at Normandy. One of the first big events was its dance, The Deep Sea Dig, in the swim gym. At the Tennis Progressive Dinner in January girls who qualified for the tennis team were introduced. The two Annual Awards Banquets, sponsored by the G.A.A., honored boys who received letters in tall and spring sports. Along with giving the school a new American Flag for the auditorium, the G.A.A. had a school-wide sports equipment drive to aid the children at the East Los Angeles Plaza Community Center. This year's activities were sponsored by Mrs. Marjorie Sturges.
