DON FOX President Student Body STUDENT BODY FIRST SEMESTER U Webster defines spirit as the breath of life. We can easily see the directness with which this applies to' our stu- dent body. Without spirit our organizations, our athletics, ,OUV I'ilgI'l STHVICIHVCIS, and our excellence in every phase of high school life would cease to exist, Without spirit the best of our progress would be stopped. Without spirit Beverly would be a skeleton of brick and mortar. However, our co-operation with our self-chosen leaders and faculty, and lo-yalty to our teams will not suppress this spirit but will rather increase and enrich it and build a better school upon the eight years of fine traditions which form our sturdy foundation. With this multiplying spirit Beverly will continue its never-ending pro- gress toward the ever-nearing goal of perfection. With the utmost faith in this and the future student Aa gas bodies, I say thank you and good-bye. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The Board of Commissioners consists of all the officers of the student body, the heads of the Leagues ancl 'school pub- lications, and the presidents of the Knights and Alphas. Meeting every two weeks in Mr, Bowhay's office, they appro- priate money from the student body fund for various uses of the school, act on matters pertaining to school clubs and their constitutions, pass amendments to the school constitution, approve the awarding of athletic awards, and authorize all school affairs. Writing this message is a privilege and 'a sad duty which certainly every president in our history has sincerely regretted and at the sarneutime cherished very dearly-regretted be- cause it marked the approach of the final farewell, cherished because it meant so much to him. ln adjustment under the new administration our stu- dents have been called upon to meet a different situation from that of any other group since the founding of our school. To attempt to leave any guiding message for you, whose ac- tions and spirit have been so admirable, would be inconsis- tent with your needs and my abilities. If I can but leave my appreciation, then that is all I wish. The time has come to write good-bye to the beautiful Norman architecture which has been my daytime home for the last four years. And it has been as kind and lovely a home in its soul and inhabitants as it is in its significant architec- ture. I truly hope that new classes will come to appreciate the intangible blessings that every sincere student inherits on entering Beverly, those heritages which they will find they leave all too soon. To have been president has been a revelation and a joy for me. I can only hope that my feelings are mirrored in your own, which is the important thing. For if they are, then the sacred spirit and traditions that are Beverly cannot and will not die, and the coming year may be looked forward to with even greater eagerness than ever before. , W W BOB MOULTON President Student Body STU DENT BODY SECOND SEMESTER BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS JEANNE BOUCHARD DON BERGER BILL JANSS BOB BECKHAM Vice-President Student Body Commissioner Finance Commissioner Safety Head Yell Leader JANE HOWLAND NED CRIST -CLYDE CARPENTER Commissioner Records Commissioner Publicity Commissioner Student Employment JACK BEAVER BILL WALKUP FRANK HINTZE JANE BARRETT Editor Highlights President Boys' League Commissioner Boys' Welfare President Alphas JANE HUGHES VIRGINIA LEE WILKINSON JIM STEWART President Girls' League Commissioner Girls' Welfare President Knights RENNIE KELLY VIRGINIA COOK BOB BELDEN SHERMAN MELLINKOFF ' ' Gi I ' Athletics Commissioner Scholarship Editor Watchtower Commissioner Boys' Athletics Commisszoner rs
