Ismail plans to attend college for two years and then return to the U.S. He appreciates the higher standard of living here as well as the cordial atmosphere. Eva, an SIS student who came to Beverly after attending a high school in Long Island, also Plans to attend college, but in the U.S. In her short time here she has observed that kids in Sweden mature much faster and, therefore, have more freedom and greater re- sponsibilities, such as open campus. The students should be at least sixteen and eligible for graduation at the end of the school year in which they are enrolled in the program. If a student is unemployed, a period of two weeks is allowed to secure a position before the student is rescheduled for a full day of school. The combination of classroom instruction with work experience should encourage a better academic achievement and better self-discipline. Diane Dobson and Kelly Bechard in the mailorder room . . . Each day different events were scheduled which represented the ideas of the student body. Many of the students and administration participated in the activities, which made the week an extraordi- nary success and, therefore, a change from the nor- mal routine. From their head- quarters in G-corridor, the sixteen guys and one girl manage approximately 50 pieces of equipment under the direction of Phil Kend- rick and Mr. Saul Gross. The club has been sponsoring extra activities, such as a Three Stooges Film Festival, to raise funds for a weekend trip to New York City. These are great kids. They'll do anything for you, Mr. Gross said of the club members. They really go out of their way. They're the most overworked, overbused, underrecog- nized group of kids in the school. lExcerpt from Beverly Times Column by Sue Bronsteinl A.V. CLUB Rear: S. Gross, E. Gross, M. Cambrey, T. Key in- juries, illness, and inexperience in certain events led to the final record of 3 wins and 7 defeats, however, Co-capts. F. Col- lier and G. Huntley made superior indi- vidual efforts. Also, senior E. Wilkins was outstanding on the still rings. Hopefully, the Panthers will be stronger next year since there will be 11 out of 14 members returning.
