I hope that as the years go by after graduation, you will always be glad that you attended this school. Your teachers and I have tried very hard to provide a sound educa- tional program for you here. I On September 3, 1952, the Class of 1955 entered Beverly High School frightened and unprepared for the adventures which lay ahead. Their first class.election took place in November under the direction of Mr. Mills, their class advisor. David Bell was elected President, Robert LeBlanc, Vice President, James Chapman, Secretary, and Norman Baker, Treasurer. Mr. Vincent, a comedy, was presented by the Sophomore Class on Drama Night. The cast included Norman Baker, Paul Longval, William Appleton, Priscilla Monahan, Judith Williams, Cynthia Hussey, and Marjorie Jones. Norman Baker received the award for a fine job of acting. In December, much to the sorrow of each student, came the death of Lorraine LaBonte. Well-liked by the entire student body and faculty, Lorraine was extremely active in numerous girls' sports at B.H.S. June brought the summer vacation and high hopes for an enjoyable Junior year. After a pleasant and restful two months, the Class of ,55 returned to the fast pace of life at B.H.S. The Junior Class was quick to gain honor and fame in football. The season came to an end with the election of Dave Bell and Bill Gibbons as co-captains for the coming year. ln October, the annual elections were held. Dave Bell was again elected President, Al Pipin, Vice President, Joanne Menesale, Secretary, and Norman Baker, Treasurer. Also, in October, a very successful and enjoyable dance was sponsored by the class. Gail Henderson, Priscilla Monahan, Luther Herrick, Norman Baker, Peter Dragonas, and Gail Glidden made up the cast of Antic Springf, a delightful play presented by the-class on Drama Night. Norman Baker again received the honors and won the award for the best acting. A The Class of 1955 are anxiously awaiting the many memorable activities of their senior year. Sophomore Class ,-D s. ff' if M 6 '7' a '4w',.' i Seated: Irene Manzi, Secretary. Standing: Harrison Ball, President, William Gibbons, Vice Presi- dent. Absent: Mary Lou Bunk, Treasurer. At the opening of school, the three hundred and thirty students of the Class of 1956 bravely entered Beverly High with an air of confusion and awe. With the second floor as their destination, they soon encountered the task of opening lockers and facing new teachers and upperclassmen. To their amazement, they found the students and faculty friendly, the lockers easy to open, and school spirit in abundance. ln a very short time, they became an essential part of life at B.H.S. Much to the sorrow of all the students, the sophomore class lost a member in a fatal accident which occurred early in the year. Suzanne Prescott will always be remembered by her fellow classmates. The Class of '56 lost no time in becoming acquainted with the activities at B.H.S. At Drama Night they presented the delightful comedy, Junior Miss.'7 The cast included Sally Boyson, Joanne Bagley, Carol Andreas, Pat Arsenault, Frank Carbone, Joel Black, Lee Turner, Frances Hunkins, Stanley Belastock, Roger Litka, James Low, David Jaquith, Carol Hazell, and Helen Henshaw. Junior Miss took top honors as the best play and Sally Boyson was awarded a prize for being the outstanding actress. Class elections were held early in the year and the following class officers were elected: President, Harry Ball, Vice President, Billy Gobeilleg Secretary, Irene Manzi, Treas- urer, Marylou Bunk.
