HIGH SCHOOL OPERETTA The Music Department, under the direction of Miss Hammond, presented a high school operetta on November 28, 1956. This was the only operetta put on by Old Fort this school year. The operetta was very colorful. The scenery and gowns of the actors and actressess were very pretty. A fairy large audience enjoyed the operetta. Jeanie Dunlap was pianist for the program. The main characters were: Mikado, Gregory Hartensteing Nanki-Poo, Eugene Stoverg Ko Ko, Frank Hiestandg Pooh Bah, Clifford Lynchg Pish Tush, Michael Frankartg Yum- Yum, Margaret McCoyg Pitti-Sing, Sandra Lairdg Peep-Bo, Lynette Hooverg Katisha, San dra Hade. SENIOR CLASS PLAY Lynette, Connie, Clifford, Judith, Loma. and Frank Wilma, Jeanie, Sharon Skip, and Charles and Richard Bob, Arloween, Ruth, and Jack Sandra, Larry, Roberta, and Mary Jo Mr. Chaney Love Your Neighbor was the name of the Senior play given on May 10. This play contained 20 characters and was one of the largest cast plays given at Old Fort. Seniors who had parts in the play were Robert Keim, Roberta Chaney, Sandra Hade, Clifford Lynch, Judith Hanna, Lynette Hoover, Connie Gegorski, Ruth Ann Gillmor, Richard Gabel, Larry Dunlap, Jack DeRan, Wilma Lemmerman, Mary Jo Barto, Frank Hiestand, Eugene Gill- mor, Charles Armstrong, Lorna Flack, Jeanie Dunlap, Sharon Habecker, and Arloween Ter- ry. Tessy Vashki is about to marry Ozzy Fredrick, when she is stung by a bee owned by Johnny Jones, an ex-marine. Tessy outraged at the thought of Ozzy's aunt trying to force Johnny out of business takes his side. When Dixie arrives and says Johnny is her husband, Tessy wants to marry Ozzy at once to show Johnny is not going to play her for a sucker . Johnny sets the bees loose, the fire department comes and there is a boxing match and a mix-up. In the end a romance develops in which Johnny gets Tessy, Ozzy gets one of the twins, and the bees are smoked out. Mr. William O. Chaney directed the play.
