FINANCIAL REPORT Since one of the 'members of the annual staff asked me to prepare an article for the annual, concerning the ,prog- ress of our school, a great deal of thought has been given to the value of the annual for not only of prepar- our school, and I feel this privilege ing a few lines of this work a pleasure, but an opportunity to express my appreciation o the fine work these students and their advisors are doing by editing an annual for our school. Many are the times in the future when the teachers, students, and we, too, will be reminded of by-gone days, of duties and pleasures. So we thank all of you for your un- tiring efforts. Now just a little infor- mation to our taxpayers of the District to show you how we have appropriated the funds you have furnished. Not the entire sum for that sees the annual report, but some big items follow. In January 1926, the bond- ed debt on the building was ml4,650, which was to be paid in full by 1952. By the De- ficiency House Bill Nc. 599 another 84857.91 .was added, making a total debt of 819487. 91. This latter amount,. how- ever, was to be paid by 1951. Then early in 1928 the state Auditor authorized the Board of Education to issue and sell notes amounting to 85727.57 to cover debts that could not be met by the taxes received from the District at that time. These notes were to be paid two each year until 1950 when they were all to be paid. Besides paying the above bonds and notes we were able to finish and furnish one class room. Then in 1928 the need of an auditorium was pre- sented to the voters of the District, 'and an issue for 273s5ooo.oo .was carried. This debt was to be paid in 1945. So far, all old bonds and notes are paid and the present indebtedness of 38750.00 on the Auditorium is the only bond debt and 31000.00 on the buses is the only outstanding debt of the generH1'fund, mak- ing a total of i9750.00. This is provided for in the levy passed at the time the bond was voted. Besides paying bonds, notes, and interest, we fin- ished and furnished the study hall, put up fire escapes at a cost of Q5ll7.00, and in 1959 several rooms, hall, auditor- ium and showere were redecorab ed at a cost of 8755.00. This included outside painting and repairing. In 929 new buses were bought at a cost of S585l.00. New furniture, books and other necessities were also bought. In conclusion, we feel a great deal has been accomplish- ed. I am sure the members of the Board join me in 'thanking you for your cooporation. Annie Carper, Clerk Board of Education
