is , Q sc PARADE AN BO FIRE OPE THE FESTIVITIES GF GMECOMI I96 Bettendorf High School Homecoming spirit pervoded oll of Bettendorf for Homecom- ing '65. Homecoming buttons made their debut to oll of Bettendorf through their sale by the Student Council. The noise of the spirited cheers ond the marching bond led the opening event of the festivities- the Homecoming Parade. Slowly, the floats, cars, bicycles, ond horses-products of weeks of plonning-mode their way through downtown Bettendorf. The pcircide proceeded to the Bettendorf High School compus where the onnuol Homecoming Bonhre and Pep Rolly were held. Excitement reached a climox when the Homecoming King ond Queen were on- nounced and introduced. King Roy Richard- son ond Queen Sharon Anderson then pro- ceeded to the pile of boxes, ond papers to ignite the trodifionol bonfire, Tom Alex presented the torch to Shoron and Roy who then kindled the bonfire.
