STUDE T 13 Giette and Judy Morton The Wayne Newport family has adopted a third daughter this year. She is Gitte Kragh, BHS's foreign exchange student for the past school year. Gitte has enjoyed leading the life of an American high school stu- dent. She has had many activities including everything from attend- ing school events to public speak- ing engagements. On several oc- casions she has sung for various civic organizations as well as school activities. During her stay here, Gitte has taught us much about Denmark and she, in turn, has come to know and appreciate many phases of the American way of life. gf

SWEETHE RT B LL The night of February 'l3th will be one of those unforgettable nights for many BHS students. It was the culmination of weeks of won- dering, hoping, and anxiously waiting for the annual Sweetheart Ball. Byron Ziegler and his orchestra provided the music, while the beautiful decorations and soft lights provided the atmosphere. It was not long before we were all in the mood that only ci Sweetheart Ball can produce. Shelby Smith reigned as Queen over the Sweetheart Ball of 1960. She was crowned by last year's queen, Judy Ollar. Following the coronation, Queen Shelby, her attendants, Peggy DeShon and Christ- ine Bullington and their escorts led the royal dance.
