In Memoriam Mrs. Veva Friend KJ In photo above she dedicates the Veva Friend Maintenance Building Mrs. Friend was a Trustee and Board member of Bethune-Cookman College for 48 years. She served in other social capacities as organizer of the Women's Advisory Board, President of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of Daytona Beach and dedicated member of Community United Methodist Church. It is said that Mrs. Friend was never idle. She always sought to involve herself in various activities. She was very close to artistic perfection in the con- struction of her handmade shell place cards and in her needle-point. The Veva Friend Maintenance Building on the campus was named in her honor and ex- emplifies her great concern for the importance of cleanliness.
