LUB The Bethlehem-Center Future Teachers of America Club received its charter on March 14, 1960. Its member- ship includes sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Its purpose is to acquaint students with the teaching profession and to interest good students in becoming teachers. Although the club has not been in existence very long, it has had a varied program of activities. The film What Greater Gift was shown, a question-and-answer period with the student teachers and the club members participating was quite informative, an afternoon spent in observing classes at the iunior high school was very in- structive. To promote a growing appreciation of the ioys and satisfaction of homemaking. 2. To emphasize the importance of worthy home membership. 3. To encourage democracy in home and community life. 4. To promote international good will. 5. To work for good home and family life for all. . ' 6. To foster the development of creative leadership in home and community life. 7. To provide wholesome individual and group recreation. 8. To further interest in home economics. This year the F.H.A. went on a trip to West Virginia University. BW 3 gf These problems are slightly hardll The Russian Club is a new organization at our high school which was limited to seniors this, our first, year. We were a very small group, consisting of only fifteen members, however we ac- complished much. Every Monday the fourth period we had a meeting during which we attempted to learn the Russian alphabet and to speak, read, and write a few words of the Russian lan- guage. There was not time for much else this year, but the students next term will be given a great opportunity -ta have regularly sched- uled classes in Russian. The Aeronautics Club, a newly formed organization, is comprised of boys who are interested in the mechanics of flight. Mr. Scott, who pilots iets in his off-hours, gives them much valuable information and advice on the subiect. The Math Club is an organi- zation of the students inter- ested in the world of num- bers. Under the expert sponsorship of Mr. Virgin, the members are beginning to realize and recognize the mathematical relationship of obiects in the universe.
