SENIOR CLASS ACTIVITIE The 'I959-1960 school year was a very busy one for the seniors. The year was filled with many changes, the first being our entering a new educational plant, the Bethlehem-Center Senior High School. Many new activi- ties took place for the seniors this year. Our first major affair was the presentation of the first annual Senior Class Play, THE MAGIC TOUCH, directed by Miss Pepper. The play was a smashing success and was made further memorable since it was the first play ever to be presented in the new school auditorium. But the play was only the beginning of the fine, fine things to come. Our second annual Snoball, the first dance to be held in the new high school gymnasium, was the major event of the first semester. Although decorating in the gymnasium was very limited this year, SENIOR SPONSORS: Mr. Tselepis, Miss Channing, Mrs. Roseberry. OFFICERS: Helen Roncadori, Vice- Presidenlg Maria Giucomelli, Secretary, John Nakovich, Treasurer, Duane Palmo, President. the dance will always be remembered because of the gigantic seventeen foot snowman which topped off the decorations. To add to the beauty of the Snoball, a queen and two attendants were selected. Bonnie Sloan was chosen the queen and her attendants were Carol Habe and Sharon Smith. fSharon was honored later in the year by being selected as queen of the Prom.I The mood for the evening was set by the music offered by Johnny Silver and his orchestra. After these two events, the pace was slowed down and senior activities were set aside for mid-terms, basket- ball season, and other general school functions. Every- one started to relax, when, before we knew it, the time came for the class banquet and graduation, and we were off again, running around getting ready for what should have been done the week before. The banquet was held in the new cafeteria, and after everyone filled themselves, the tables were cleared and we proceeded with the program. Its highlight proved to be the presenting of the Colonel awards to twenty- four seniors for various activities and abilities. After- wards we all enjoyed dancing in the gymnasium to the music provided by Stuart Arnold. After the Senior Banquet one last major activity re- mained - the one ceremony that each boy and girl looks forward to from his first years in grade school - GRAD- UATION! The commencement exercises were held in the auditorium. The main part of the program was a panel comprised of a number of seniors who discussed their ideas gleaned from attending the Conference on Children and Youth held at California State College. The exercises were rendered more enlightening by addresses given by the two top honor students - Joy Hegedus and Charles Greskovich. And with the presentation of the last diplo- ma, our senior year of many pleasant activities came to a close, and in one evening our high school years were transformed from a reality to a memory.
