I l 7 l The Girls' Athletic Association is tamiliarly known Soph. ll 0 7 l as the G.A.A. lts aims are to promote interest in girls' physical education and games, to develop leadership, to improve sportsmanship, and to improve health. Membership in this association is open to all girls in the Junior and Senior classes. These girls must maintain a C average. The Association conducts intramural tournaments throughout the year. SECTION 5 CHAMPS Golf is a test of temper, o trial of honor, a revealer of chor- acter, a chance to play the man and act the gentleman, and is the study of a lifetime in which one may exhaust himself but never his subject. The Beth-Center golf team, under the direction of Mr. Tworzydlo, play their home matches at the Nemacolin Country Club located on Route 40 near Beallsville. Since taking over the coaching of the golf team three years ago, Mr. Tworzydlo has produced section champs all three years. As a resulf of their skillful playing, this year the team captured the Section 5 crown by winning eight straight games. Continuing on undefeated, B. C. beat Greensburg in the quarter finals, lOM -516. Entering into the semi-finals against Penn Hills, the only other undefeated team in WP.l.A.L., B. C. lost, 13M - ZW. Charles Greskovich and Ronald Durdines paved the way for BethJCenter throughout the year by achieving the lowest scores in our section. We congratulate the golf team for their outstanding record and would like to wish Mr. Tworzydlo and his future teams continued success. TEE OFF! no 7
