We did a lot of things uabeproud of during our eleventh year in school We gave the first Junior Play that had been given at our school for a long time, and itwas very success The name of it was nMama's Baby Boy and Bobby Travis and Betty Ellis had the leading parts The highlight of our eleventh year was the Banquet we gave the Seniors at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill nO1d South was used as the theme and tne Senior colors, blue and gold, predominated After dinner was served, folk games were enjoyed by students and faculty alike Our Senior year will always mean more'b us than all the others because it symbolizes what wehave been working toward for the past eleven years The Senior boys had.ab1g part in the Parliamentary Pro cedure contest that Bethesda won over the Durham County and Orange County schools. Three of the Senior boys were on the basketball team that won district Future Farmers of America basketball honors. 'Springtime For Susie' was chosen ssour Senior play and Peggy Dampier and Fred Wilder had the leading parts The pmy was very successful and was the climax to an eventful year Twenty-four boys and girls wUD graduate this year, bet- ter prepared ibr life because d' the patience and lmderstanding of many teachers. PHOPHECY It is now 1952, three years after that brilliant class of 'M9 graduated from dear old Bethesda This class has really gone ahead in the world Continue to read and you will see what I mean Peggy Dampier, Betty Ellis, and I graduated from a com mercial school and are now Civil Service Stenographers decided the other day that we would likein know what the rest of our class was doing, so we got a leave of absence and gal avanted all over town getting the inside dope on everyone course we were W e took a Wilder was the results of the escorted by our Civil Service boy friends taxi into town and did we take wings! On the way we passed Robert Sherron's DIAMOND CASINO where they say he is doing pretty well We d1dn't stop Strange as it nayseem we arrived safely in town and went to Walgreen's for a coke There we found Billie Smith asman ager will and her best friend, Rachel Nichols, as assistant They probably marry the soda jerkers We started down the street and whom should we meet but Faye Jones,ourfor-mer class mate, with an arm full of books We were to attend a play at U N C that night so we stopped at a beauty parlor to get our hair fixed The beau ticians were none omer than Betty Johnson and Hazel Whitfield If yan' hair 1sn't curled when they get through with you, well you're hopeless From there we went in dinner, and whom should we see at a table across the room but two naval officers, Bobby Travis and Judd Booth Bet they are having fun chasing those Waves around At another table we saw Billy Fox, who is now a pilot in the Air Force Considering the girl he was with, thatuniform must be getting him places We finished dinner and caught a bm out to the University where three of our former class mates, Annie Lou Underwood, .
