President George K. Brushaber 1987-88 has been a very special year on the Bethel campus. Warm friendships, challenging courses, and encouragement from instructors who care have helped to shape our growth and enrich our lives. There have been exciting surprises and quiet joys. As we have learned to live together as a Christian community, we have sensed God's tender patience and celebrated His grace at work in and among us. From this year together each of us will carry with us memories, mostly happy but some painful. The knowledge and skills we have gaired and mere importantly the persons we are becoming are all rooted in our experiences at Bethel. What we have given has been as important as what we have received. This Spire yearbook will help to remind us of what and who has been important to us. And in all of this may we see the love of God transforming us into the image of Christ. Or behalf of all of us I want to express appreciation to those dedicated people who have worked so faithfully to make possible this edition of the Spire. Blessings and best wishes to each of you as you continue to discover the plans God has for you. George K. Brushaber President 26
