VICE-PRESIDENT9 AND DEANS Deans: Wallace Anderson, Catharine Williams, and Owen Halleen Many students have come into the deans' offices for consultation or just to talk. The deans are a group of individuals who are very much concerned with the welfare of each individual student within the Bethel community. They act on discipline problems, as advisors to various activities on campus, and in regard to on-campus and off-campus housing. Their biggest concern is helping and counselling students who want their help and advice. Our vice-presidents play an important role to Bethel in relationship to the financial need of the co lege and seminary in addition to their role of leadership as our executive administrators. PRESIDENT Prosident Carl H. Lundquist Presidont Lundquist phoned in a bulletin from the Conference daily. In the midst of world despair, comfort was sought by leaders, including our president, in Berlin to discuss evangelism. This was the highlight of the 1966-67 school year for Dr. Carl H. Lundquist. According to the President, the principles discussed at the World Council or Evangelism had concrete accomplishments that can be applied directly to Bethel: It sharpened our focus as a college on the reasons that we are educating students. That is, to renew the emphasis that we are existing to serve Christ by producing well-trained, competent leaders. The meetinq also emphasized the relationship of our Christian services to our academic work. Our president stressed the idea that Bethel s work must never be done in a stagnant, compulsory spirit. The work we do for Jesus Christ now and the continuance of this work after leaving Bethel must always be done in a spirit of love. 'We are preparing today's students to serve Christ. In the month of November students. faculty, and friends, helped President Lundquist celebrate his birthday. His family was present to witness this happy surprise.
