'-'WS ' ' HL e Z s 'E M , - 5 xx Q-'S-4 fa - Q'-Q 4: :QU -.-my ,,..1 QW'i '1 President HENRY WINGBLADE Ever since 1910 with an exception of but three years Bethel campus has been graced with a truly Christian gentleman in the person of Dr. Wingblade. During this span Dr. Wingblade has come to personify the attitude, the goal, the achieve- ments, and the character of Bethel. His attitude has been one of selfless service with a certain degree of the fear of God in view of the many and frequent respons- ibilities. His long range and short range goals have all sparked with a zeal that in all things Christ may be pre-eminent. Directly and indirectly due to his efforts and example, Bethel has sent out a continuous stream of Christian leaders better equipped than they would be, had they not been influenced by him. President Wingblade has aptly demonstrated to his many contacts in and out of Bethel what are the cardinal elements of Christian character - love, humility, faith, holiness, and truth. 6 In Ilwsv zrlm svl'H'1l :rv lll'llfl'l'lfl' . . . Dean C. EMANUEL CARLSON Dean Carlson is a person Bethel is proud and sorry to lose. Having for twenty-six years represented the interests of about fifty thousand Baptists in the education of future leaders, he, this year, began to represent the interests of seventeen million Baptists to the nation's leaders. We are justly proud of having him a part of us for so long. In all this there is a note of regret. Bethel has stood to lose in Dean Carlson's terminating for interruptingj his career of Christian scholarship. His service in the progress of Bethel and the molding of Christian leadership is undeniable, his counsel in assisting men and women to find their places in the will of God has been of infinite worth. And so, as Dean C. Emanuel Carlson has been God's man in this place for twenty-six years, we are confident he is now God's man in his new post.

A 'wqe-.,, v DR. G. A. HAGSTROM It is so seldom that many of us chance to cross paths with true greatness. Wfe have seen in our late president emeritus, Dr. G. Arvid Hagstrom, a great man and a great soul. His life has been spent in tireless efforts for the kindgdom of God, his memory shall be priceless in the minds of those he influenced toward that king- dom and its work. His ambitions, his devotion, labors, beliefs, hopes, and anxieties have but indicated a heart's response to the call of the ages, Follow Me. And so, for Dr. Hagstrom, the time we've known him, his life, his memory, we have been greatly enriched and soberly say, Thank you, God. . . . in lelzelilurqy ROBERT BRUCATO The Apostle said, How unspeakable are His judgments and His ways past finding out. Still our hearts were filled with a measure of sorrow at the passing of our friend and fellow classmate, Bob Brucato. It will be impossible for many of us to forget his example of spirit- ual fervor and constant willingness to serve. His sweet Christian spirit shall long continue to reflect itself in those he has met and in- fluenced.
