The feeling of peace on earth good will toward men ran high through- out the school as the rooms and bulletin boards took on the cheery appearance of Christmas. There were many tense moments as the students anxiously awaited the holi- days. The probing revealed many things, such as our teacher's nick name, ''Punk'’, With apprehensive assurance, we presented our master- pieces, knowing all would receive A's. Lizzie Wilborne has done an out- standing jobasthis year's school re- porter. She has diligently collected and organized the BHHS news for the Bethel Hill section of the COURIER TIMES. Our hats are off to Lizzie for the outstanding job she has been doing. The Halloween Carnival was a suc- cessagainthis year. Allen Long and Brenda Oakley were chosen king and queen of the Halloween Carnival. About 6,000 penny votes were cast for these two. The annual week of the F.H.A, in- itiation brought unusual looking girls roaming around the school. One day the candidates wore their skirts and blouses wrong-side-out, and another day only half of their face was made- up. Friday afternoon they donned boy's pants, pajama tops, a high heel and a bed room slipper, to push an oniondown the gym floor. The girls whole-heartedly agree it was worth it to become a F.H.A.'er.

The house lights were down, and the curtain was going up on the biggest farce of the Queen of Hearts dance in the history of the school. On the way to the dance Francis Kowalski climbeda telephone pole withhis car, and knocked out all the power in Beth- el Hill. Noone was seriously hurt, but the dance was in chaos. The Queen's court processed to flash lights as Mr. Bradsher conducted the intro- ductions over a megaphone. Cupid's aim was a little off that night, but Francis zeroed in on target perfectly. With Midterm exams near, groups gather for Rookgames, coffee, cookies, potatoe chips and perhaps a little study. The night the juniors decorated for the Junior-Senior will not be soon forgotten. Everyone turned out to cover the gym with crepe paper, and to help raise the old hacienda at one end of the building. The last person left at 1:30a.m. after assembling the balcony and checking out the lights. The class was a little groggy the next day, and they still had a day's work of last minute touches to complete.
