Bethel Keyettes Chosen Best in District Sponsoring a foster child in Arizona and “adopting” an old age home are only two of the activities which made our Keyette Club one of the best clubs on the Peninsula. In the summer, the Keyettes cleaned Grand View and took some chil¬ dren to Blue-Bird Gap Farm. Keyettes again sponsored powder puff football and presented the winning Seniors a plaque. Anxiously awaiting the convention, all of the Keyettes helped raise money for their international project. The Keyette aim to serve the school, community, and country was definitely fulfilled. An apple a day “may” keep the teachers away. 15

S.C.A. OFFICERS: Keith Hargrave, chaplain; Pam Pugh, secretary; Romeo Gillis, president; JoAnn Price, treasurer; John Spring, vice-president. The S.C.A. kept busy this year making as many school improvements as possible. Changes were made in the constitution, repre¬ sentation and election of officers. The largest achievement was in attaining a jukebox to be played in the cafeteria before school and during lunch. Delegates were sent to the state conven¬ tion in Roanoke, the district meeting at Berke¬ ley and the summer workshop at Lexington. Other events during the year included Home¬ coming, Toys for Tots, and three assemblies featuring the CONARC band, Pilgrim 20, and Free Fare, both rock bands. Miss Janice Hud¬ gins was sponsor. 17
