Library Starts New File An enthusiasm to work with and around books are the only requirements necessary to join the Library Club. Members spent many hours shelving- new books and working with money making projects such as bake sales. The club sponsored a special program this year open to all students and teachers. The “Com¬ munity Resource File” provided information on tours, places of interests and speakers that were available to anyone in the community. National Library Week, April 16-22, kept the club busy with a different feature every day. There were sculpture, speed reading, and poster contests, as well as a tea for the teachers and a sale of bookmarkers. 13

Radio Program Improves B.H.S. Popularity Under the direction of Mrs. Claudette Keeney, Bethel sponsored their first radio program. The “Bruin Broadcasting Company” or B.B.C., pro¬ duced 15 minutes of Bethel news, sports, and cur¬ rent events each week on WVEC-FM radio. The club consisted of seven students, some whom are interested in broadcasting as a career and others finding the extra activity a fun way to spend a class period. In all, the broadcast was one more step to making Bethel the best school on the Pen¬ insula. Good morning, Mr. Phelps . . . 12 mm

Key Clubbers Serve As Big Brothers The Key Club could not possibly have been called idle during this year. They stayed busy serving school and community and deserve much credit for their work. One of their main projects was serving as Big Brothers to area boys whom they took to three of the Coliseum basketball games. Other activities included selling programs during football games, handling concessions at the basketball games, collecting for Multiple Sclerosis, sponsoring the Donkey Basketball games and the Magicians Basketball game, and selling donuts on week-ends in order to buy new track uniforms. They went caroling at Christmas with the Keyetts and had a picnic together in the Spring. The an¬ nual Key Club Convention was held this year in March at Baltimore. President of the club was David Hutcheson and Mr. Dennis Kozlowski was sponsor. 14
