MJ' JOMVLJ dfdge Whenever a new concert hall is established, a famous orchestra is generally asked to give the initial or dedi- catory performance. Since our Senior High School was built, we, the Senior Class of 1956, are the first Horchestrai' to give a complete program on our Sound Stagef, Our Sophomore year was spent in tuning up,', while as Juniors most of our time went into practice sessionsi' that were so important in perfecting our skills. As soloists, our Senior year was a busy one-we spent much time with our critics in preparation for our final concert. On graduation night, we gave our most important performance-on the Sound Stageu of this Wonderful concert hall to which We dedicate our Beacon, 1956- Bethel Senior High School. 4

Actually, there's a great deal more to it than that . . . a bandleader must have many years of educationg he must know just what function is performed by each of the various sections of his bandg and most important, he must see that each member of the band is doing his part to make it a fine organization, so that there will be no sour notesi' in performance. An extra special Hfanfarei' to Dr. Siedle, Senior High Principal, and Mr. Lauda, Junior High Principal, for proving them- selves fine and able ubandleadersf, MJ' Ll'8Cf0I'f5 In the world of music, directors have the all-important job of picking the musical numbers that they feel would comprise a good program for their orchestra. Here at Bethel, the School Board acts as the director of our orchestra-planning our program so t.hat we may gain the most from playing in this orchestra, Under the supervision of Mr. VVilliam A. Tissue, President, and lVIr. Denny J. Smith, Vice-President, the board has functioned smoothly, promoting our or- chestra and deciding just what musical numbersv they might put on the program to make school more enjoyable for us. Through their continued efforts and hard work, our Horchestrai' has risen to take its place among the finest, with the assurance that it will long remain there. ELZITJLGCJEPJ DR. SIEDLE MR. LAUDA
