Class Poem of 1952 High school is but a day in life, That prepares us for some future strife. We live, we worK we love, we play, We fill each moment of the day. Dawn found us in our Freshman year. Each golden moment we treasured here. Like tender green plants we grew, Both in wisdom and in stature too. Morn, we'll call our Sophomore days. Carefree were we in all our ways. Unaware of the passing of time, We sailed through our school days sublime Noontime, we'll call our Junior year. School life was quite interesting here. Through all the year we tried and tried, To tame our ways and be dignified. Eve, our Senior year will represent. A dignified group it does present. Each one has begun to realize, The one who wins is he who tries. Our motto now we understand. They Conquer Who Believe They Can. Our parents we appreciate. Their efforts our ways will dictate. They have not striven long and taught Us all these things for naught. Many things they thought we ought to know, As on our way through life we'd go. Our teachers hold a spot so dear. Remember what they've taught each year. They've laid the stones of our foundation, So we'll take our place in the nation. Even though we'll soon be far apart, School days we'll treasure in our hearts. Many examples here have been set, Lessons taught, that we'll never forget. Written by Bonnie Smoot 9 au
