Dr. L.C. Waddle Bethel has been blessed by the assets of Dr. L.C. Waddle since 1965. Graduating from Bethel in 1942, Dr. Waddle attended the Cumberland Presby- terian Theological Seminary to attain a B.D. in 1943. He continued his education to receive his Th.M. at Louisville Presbyterian Seminary and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity, from Bethel. Dr. Waddle is on the Communications Committee, and he is also known for finding churches for beginning ministerial students. In addition to ministering to several churches, he holds many local responsi- bilities. He is a member of the Theology Committee of the North American and Caribbean Area Council of the World Alliance and Reformed and Presbyterian Churches. Dr. William Ramsey For eight years, Bethal has had the teachings of Dr. William Ramsay in the Religion and Philosophy department. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, his B.D. from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia and his B.A. from Southwestern University of Memphis. Dr. Ramsay is a member of the President's Council and a member of the Professional Standards Committee. He is a minister in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. and President of the American Association of University Professors. His leisure time is spent in activities such as gardening and golfing. Dr. Daniel Taddie Dr. Daniel Taddie has taught at Bethel since 1983. Before that he taught at a community college in Blythville, Arkansas. His degrees include a Ph.D. in musicology, a B.A., and M.A., and an M.F.A. in voice from the University of Iowa. Dr. Taddie is the college organistg and he conducts the Bethel Balladeers, the community choir, and the handbell choir. His goals at Bethel are the betterment of higher education and the interest of the students and the staff. Some of Dr. Taddie's outside interests include art, drama, theology, creative writing, politics, movies, and gardening.

DEPARTME T CHAIRME Dr. William King Students at Bethel have been taught by Dr. William King since 1981. His degrees include a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a M.A. from the University of Washington, and a B.S. from the Memphis State University. Dr. King was last year's chairman of the Humanities Division, and he has succeeded in creating a new film class. His outside interests include playing the guitar, the harmonica, and the autcharp, singing and playing folk music, and giving tribute to Bob Dylan. Dr. Howard Freeman Dr. Freeman is probably best known for his unusual personality. His degrees include a Ph.D. in Zoology from Rutgers University, his M.A. in Zoology from the University of Kansas, and his B.A. in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Freeman is the Chairman of the Divisions of Natural and Health Sciences, chairman of the Academic Affairs Committee, sponsor of the Biology club and sponsor of the Young Republicans. He is also a volunteer fireman for the McKenzie Fire Department. When he is not running off to a fire, Dr. Freeman enjoys reading, nature, photography, painting, working on his computer, and playing with his coon hounds. Mr. Rodney Schleifer Mr. Rodney P. Schleifer is the Associate Professor of Business Administration, and he has joined the Bethel team just this year. His degree include a B.S. from the University of Central Arkansasg M.B.A., Graduate Study, University of Arkansas. Mr. Schleifer has been a much welcomed addition to Bethel, and he is not only a challenging instructor, but he is a comedian noted for his quick wit and general hilarity.

HUM NI IE Mrs. Maribeth McGuire Mrs. Maribeth McGuire joined the Bethel family in 1986 as an Englisl professor. Her degrees are a B.A. from Bethel College and a M.A. frorr Memphis State. Mrs. McGuire teaches various English and literature classes. She also enjoy: working with the humanities class. She hopes that she will be able to inspire the students of Bethel College in not only English and literature, but in thei personal lives as well. A few of Mrs. McGuire's outside interests are music, art, drama, writing literature, classic movies, and being a minister's wife. Dr. Isabel Wheeler Dr. Isabel Wheeler has been a member of the Bethel faculty since 1969. Sh received her Ph.D. from St. Louis University, her M.A. from Ohio Stat University, and her B.A. from the University of Missouri. Dr. Wheeler's goals at Bethel are to help students to establish and to me their own goals, while challenging the process of thought in essays and writin Outside activities for Dr. Wheeler include Sunday School teaching, sponso ing the Bethel Beacon, the Creative Writing Interest Group, and Lambda Sigm social sorority. Dr. Peter Hobbie Dr. Peter Hobbie joined Bethel Colletge this year and the Assistant Professo Religion and College Chaplain. His degrees are an A.B. from Davidson College- M.B.A., Virginia Commonwealth University, M.A., University of North Caroli na at Chapel Hill, D. Min., Ph.D., Union Theological Seminary in Virginia. Dr. Hobbie enjoys the Bethel family very much, as the people here have bee: exceptionally friendly. Dr. Hobbie's favorite pasttime is running.
