410 It seemed that Old Man Basketball would never wake from summer hibernation. Day after sweaty day, the Bethel College Lady Wildcats worked toward the appointed time when the season would open. All the while, first year Head Coach john Sneed was observing, calculating, worrying, and contemplating Certain characteristics would be noticeable about the Lady Wildcats as they approached the 1987-88 season. The most obvious would be a conspicuous lack of height. After the loss of 6'1' center, Stephanie Hester, the tallest player would be 5'11'. But an aggressive, ball hounding defense coupled with a physically oriented squad was expected to offset the height problem. An unusually determined attitude was evident in practice sessions as well as in the spoken wor of the players. The Lady Wildcats underwent some dramatic changes between the off and the on season. Due to Grade Points and injuries, the Lady Cats had only 7 players through most of their season. These remaining players are: Linda Harris, Kim Buttrey, Andrea Tiszai, Ellen Argo, Michelle jerrolds, Renee Ervin, and Barbara Campbell.
