The Flute Trio performed at the orchestra concert in February and also over T.V. during the year. This year Bethel sent a large delegation to the United Nations at New York where the annual Intercollegiate Peace Fellowship Conference was held. Spaulding, faculty advisor. 7 STUDENT CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP The Student Christian Fellowship is the over- all organization embracing three commissions which work in the specific areas of Peace, Serv- ice, and Fellowship. Influence from the SCF is felt off campus as well as on, through such activities as deputation trips, Sunday school extension proiects and other services which take Bethel students into the neighboring commu- nities and states. Maior campus proiects in- clude Christian Life Week in the fall, and Vol- untary Service week in the spring. At their semi- monthly meetings they become acquainted with the different languages and cultural back- grounds through informal and spontaneous par- ticipation, singing of folksongs, guest speakers, and films. INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CLUB East meets West-this is Bethel's International Relations Club. Meeting once a month for fun, fellowship, and a learning experience, the group is made up of students from many countries, including Korea, Formosa, Nigeria, France, Hol- land, Uruguay, Canada, Germany, and the Unit- ed States. Programs are often concerned with world-wide problems of youth. V i STUDENT COUNCIL Acting on behalf of the student body, the Student Council, consisting of students nom- inated by their respective classes and the stu- dent body, has the job of working out various campus problems. lt not only introduces new policies and ideas, but revises old ones to meet the rising needs of the students and student organizations. All in all, it acts as an agent to promote democratic Christian living, secure co- operation of students with the faculty, and foster school spirit. STUDENT COURT The Student Court is a student organization elected by the student body. The court considers all violations of campus conduct brought to its attention by faculty members or students and tries to deal with each case in a redemptive manner seeking to reinstate the individual into a good standing with the school and the student body. INDUSTRIAL ARTS CLUB The Industrial Arts Club seeks to create and cultivate interest in its specific field and also in related fields through field trips, demonstration, and special speakers. This year, an interior decorator and a marriage counselor were among the speakers sponsored by the club. Senior girls of the organization are traditionally honored at a breakfast in Spring. ALPHA PSI OMEGA To become a member of this national hon- orary dramatics fraternity, an interested student must acquire a certain number of points by participating in Bethel College dramatic presen- tations. The members of the Alpha Psi Omega then nominate and elect eligible candidates into the organization for their outstanding contribu- tions in the line of dramatics. This organization endeavors to cultivate appreciation of the best in drama. PI KAPPA DELTA The Pi Kappa Delta is a national forensics society. The purpose of it is to stimulate progress in and to further the interests of intercollegiate speech activities and communication, to encour- age a spirit of fellowship, brotherly co-operation, and incentive for achievement.
