Lisa in action. FUTURE FILLIES A new sport this year, Jr. High girls basketball, was introduced. The girls all had tons of fun and got in some training for their fu- ture high school years. The season only lasted about a month and was over before we knew it, but coach Foster and the girls will always re- member their first season.

YEARLING CAGERS This year was not one of the best for the 8th grade Yearlings. They only won four games while they went to the semi-finals of the re- gional. The 7th graders did a lot better. They got second place in their tournament and lost by one in overtime in the regionals. The top scorer for the 8th graders was Bran- don Yoder, and the top scorer for the 7th graders was Ryan Martin. Both Brandon and Ryan received the top rebounder awards in their respective classes and have proven to be valuable assets to their teams. Coach Parsons seems to be doing a fine job training these boys and along with other talented team- mates should be respected mem- bers of future Mustang basketball teams. 7th Grade Takes 4th In State 8th Grade Slumps From Lack Of People A Ryan Martin, new state long jump record holder, with a jump of 18'3 . The 7th grade boys track team did very well this year by placing 4th in the state tract meet. Ryan Martin set a new 7th grade small schools long jump record with a 18'3 jump. (The large schools' winner only jumped 18'2 .) Ryan also placed 4th in 100m dash. The 4x200m relay team of Martin, Peck, VanLoon, and Fultz placed 2nd in state. Ryan and Steve VanLoon ran the 400m and 200m, respectively, at the state meet. The 7th graders also won their regional meet. The 8th grade didn't do as well, largely due to a small squad. Brandon Yoder was their high scorer with 16 firsts in 11 meets. Track members kneeling are, M. Bland, J. Crowe, B. Osman, C. Smith, S. VanLoon, D. Fultz, D. Peck, R. Shutter, M. Maxedon, and E.
