We started out with 2 non-conference victories over Ar- thur and Atwood, but it was downhill after that as we dropped our last seven to finish with a 2-7 record. Much can be attributed to the fact that we encountered twice as many injuries as last year. But during that time many underclassmen were able to play and gain valuable expe- rience for next year. This year's Mus- tangs can hold their heads high because we know we gave 100% every game, and when the other teams walked off the field, they knew they had played a game. So to next years Mustangs, good luck, and to this year's ''Senior 7 ' good luck in whatever you endeavor. Remember your talents and leadership will be missed next year. STANGS IN ACTION The Mustang basketball team com- pleted its first 20-7 season since 1979-80. This successful year included victories at the Sullivan Thanksgiving Tournament and at the Meridian Conference Tourna- ment. Regular conference play ended with a fantastic 9-2 record which led to its first Regional championship game in eleven years. Awards this year went to the following: MVP — Sean Martin Top Rebounder — Mike McMahan Best Defense — Derek Fultz Best FreeThrow % — Sean Martin Most Improved — Brett Barnes All-Conference 1st — Sean Martin All-Conference 2nd — Mike McMahan Special Thanks — Adam McReynolds 18 BASKETBALL
