WE HAD A BLAST Inspired by the class of 1984 before us, the class of 1985 decided to take three days out of the middle of January and go to the Americana Ski Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Only five or six people had skied before, and as for the rest of us, we were in for the experience of our lives. Behave yourself, Danny The next day we all tried out the next hill, considerably larger and steeper, and obtainable only by the ski lift. Most everyone became master skiers on this hill. However, someone forgot to tell Paulette Bly the route of the hill. Paulette took a wrong turn and was launched into the air. We all looked up to find her twisting and turning silently aloft for a few seconds before she returned to earth on her head. She was delirious for a few moments, rambling about her army days, but she soon recovered and continued skiing. The bus ride to the resort. Some of us are enthusiastic about the trip. We were split up into three groups, each with their own individual instructor. It was quite hilarious to see people lose their balance on the skis. They would shuffle along, and then suddenly, eyes growing wide, they’d give a sharp Yip!” before slowly tipping over into the snow. Once on the ground, they would rest helplessly paralyzed by the length of the skis. So after about what seemed like centuries, everyone finally made it to the baby hill. The instructors taught us all the basics we would need to know to master skiing. Eventually, we worked our way from the top of the hill to the bottom of the hill. Oh my God, we were skiing! Well, some of us were. A group of us were at the foot of the hill when the air was suddenly filled with a moan. We whirled around and caught sight of Lyndall Rawlings swiftly gliding out of control straight for Rhonda Clark. To our horror we realized that Lyndall had forgotten how to stop. “Oh noooh!” Lyndall droned as Rhonda struggled to maneu- ver herself from his trajectory. It was hopeless, and Lyndall smashed solidly into her, and there it was, a groaning Lyndall on top of a fallen Rhonda, laying paralyzed in the softly falling snow as we all died laughing. It was but the first of many hilarious moments of our trip. 18 Seniors Captured personalities.

To the innocent bystander observing the class of 1985, it must have been like watching a humorous movie. Over there is Teresa Yates, who had fallen down and now was making unearthly screeches in her struggle to get back up. To the right is Judi “Tuba,” who was filling the air with obscenities as she attempted to fix her skis which refused to stay attached. There was Mrs. Overlot, all alone, and still going down the baby hill as slowly as possible. There was Michele Harris, slaloming down the hill in a professional stance with determi- nation frozen on her face of steel. Look over there at that real steep hill! It's Kevin “Death on Skis McReynolds smiling proudly as he descends. Lord have mercy, look out! Greg Bond has wrecked in front of them, and Paul Williams is swerving to avoid Greg. Unfortunately, Paul swerved in front of Kevin, and Kevin has no chance but to slam into Paul. Everyone emerged from the catastrophe mildly unscathed except for Kevin, who must get five stitches for that cut above his eye. It seems his ski whacked him. Oh, well. Judi Tuba and Todd Mrs Overlol and her first 2nd grade class. Mr Overlol and his 25th class. We remind Mrs. Overlot that we were her first 2nd grade class when she began teaching at Bethany 10 years ago. It seems only proper that she joins us on our class trip, with her husband and our sponsor, Buzz. Mr. and Mrs. Miller also are here helping to chaperone us. We would like to thank them for chaperoning our trip. We had the time of our lives, and you can see from these pictures. We still have four more months until we all graduate and part for the last time. It hasn’t yet hit us that our thirteen years together were drawing to a close. Seniors 19
