We ended up in Springdale. Ohio. The trip began May 13 at 7:00 A M. accompanied by our class sponsors Buzz and Margie Overlof. Our first stop was at Tuscola where we ate breakfast at Dixies truck stop. After breakfast we were on our way again. We finally arrived at the Motor Inn Lodge after being stopped by the Indiana police for speeding. We got checked in and went to out rooms to get refreshed before going to the Col- iege Football Hall of Fame. The rest of the night we hod to ourselves. Some of us went to a movie while others stayed of the lodge to swim or stay In their The second day began at 7:00. By 9:30. we were on our way to checking out and on the road to King's Island for a wild day. There were many sights to see and wild rides to be ridden. Some of us ate pizza, hamburgers ond assorted candy all day. One of the rides most enjoyed by the class was the Beast, which was a roller-coaster. Half through the day it rained and lasted all day. We all met at the bus around 7:00 P.M. After everyone was at the bus we looked like drowned rots. The girls changed in the back of the bus while the boys waited: then it was their turn to change. We finally arrived back in Bethany early Sunday morning. We all had our laughter and tears. Many realized that this was the last time we d all be together. We had many beautiful memories and achieved many of our goals. Thanks to Buzz and Margie we had a unique class trip. ■ ■ CLASS TRIP Christina Carroll. The yeor is 2003 ond we ore meeting ot the Sullivan Pizza Hut, owned and operated by Jim Kelly. There he is now over in the corner keeping everyone up-to-date on what has happen- ed to all the old Sullivan and Lovingfon guys and girls. No one really cares. Dret Done was the first one here tonight so he could inspect for fire hazards. Jim O'Brien refused to come tonight because he was sure no one would remember him. Joylene Kidwell must be here tonight, we can't see her but man can we sure hear her. Larry Gregory is unfortunately in the hospital after walking down Cerro Gordo St., Decatur with his Ku Klux Klan suit on. Lori Suddarth came here tonight with her husband but is presently looking for Dill Cornfield. Speaking of Dill, he and David Luck are out in the parking lot bowling, but with no balls or pins. Mr. Car himself, Eric Harris, just walked in with a dozed look in his eyes, mumbling about a 454 hi-rise turbo something or other. Peggy Brewer won't be here tonight since Sullivan is having their reunion tonight, too. Steve Hozee came in accompanied with his date, a former member of our faculty. Dethany-loyal Lisa Tipsword and Sue Alexander showed up wearing their Sullivan Redskins T-shirts. Rich Cornfield left already to go look for a fight. He was with his good friend ond inspiration Jack Daniels. Steve Austin came tonight wear- ing on outfit from his new line of clothes. It's called. The Pookie-Bear look. Laura Craig is here and is now a successful business woman with the Charmin Toilet Paper Co. Don Apke. now rich and famous, is here tonight just after releasing his new hit single, ”12-votes, 6-votes it don’t Make!!! Angie Butt, now owner of Bethany Sales Co., is accompanied by none other than the notorious Pete Fowler. On a more serious note, Christina Carroll, Mindy Bone, and Jennifer Taylor are in the corner arguing as to who's been most successful these 20 years. Jackie Sheehan stayed home tonight so she could watch the soap operas her mother taped for her. Boy, there's a depressed looking Dr. Chris Davis. Small wonder why either. He tried to donate his body to science and the only group interested was a garbage company. Diane Waggoner and husband Jim barely made it here tonight. It was awfully hard trying to get away from the Rooster Farm. Lori Wiszo-Waty is inquiring as to if anyone knows a good lawyer. She's dying to change that last name of hers. Greg Waggoner and Brett Robinson.'famous authors, are discussing whose book is better. Greg's book is based on his life and is entitled Just Showin' Off, while Brett's book is entitled, Dealing with the Unexpected. Marilyn Goetz is here tonight but hasn't been able to say much because her mouth is crammed with food. Dill Younger was here earlier but had to leave because his mother didn’t wont him out too late. Rita Kesterson would like for everyone to hurry and finish eating so she can get those dishes to the Bethany High School cafeteria and start washing. Brian Coleman is just standing around letting all the girls remember why he was voted Best Looking Boy in our class. Atta boy Hugh, Jr. Well look over there. There's Leann Calhoun telling everyone the exciting story of how she tripped over the half-court line at the sexual against Jamaica-Sidell. Ooooh, Lori Dorris is badly limping. She sneezed earlier and threw her knee out. Why, Lisa Potillo is just sit- ting over there by herself. Oh, no wonder, she's engrossed in another one of her Harlequin Romances. Barry Coleman came tonight only so he could tease and make fun of everybody. How did he get voted Best Personality anyway? This is terrible but Jackie McMahan is in prison! She was sent up the river for dating a man who appeared to be three times her age. Tracey Wehner and Cathy Hutchinson are over at the snack bar eating all the green M M's. Susie Cole has a job she can handle. She's inspector 42 double B at the Playtex factory. Nurse Laura Compton is here tonight wearing a rubber glove. She's trying to get all the boys to turn their heads and cough. Junior Throneburg came in dribbling a basketball but after a few hours at the bar he is once again dribbling, without the basketball. And last but not least. Gayla Shain came tonight with all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gayla doesn't work in a store but she is into produce. On November 17. 1962 we went to the Masonic Temple In Decatur to see the Spanish American Dancers, and afterwards we went to eat at Bonanza. On November 21, a few of us went to the Assembly Hall In Urbana-Chompalgn to see the Broadway play Evito, which was about the (ln-?)famous wife of Presi- dent Juan Peron of Argentina back in the 1940's. We olso watched the video rapes of ‘‘The Man From La Mancha'' and El Cld on Kevin McReynolds' VCR. To keep up with tradition, we decided to hove Kevin McReynolds massacre the plhafa as last year, because Kevin hod merely decapitated It then. This time we tied the pihata in a small room adjacent to the Home Ec's kitchen. Because of the room's size. Kevin did not have much swinging space, so when he heaved his mighty dub to slay the pinata, we were more horrified than ever before. We fled for protection behind the curtains, the door and under the bed. Suddenly, It was time. Kevin swung with a gargantuan's strength, and smashed that pihata straight to you-know-where. The force of his blow was so cataclysmic, that the candy In the pihata fired out like a grenade blast. A few pieces lashed Mrs. Beals In the face, disfiguring her horribly, but she quickly recovered, much to our relief. We scram- bled for the candy, although most had crumbled to dust upon impact with the room's walls and floor (and ceiling and Mrs. Deals' face). Vlce-Pres. and Student Council Rep. Daren Nelson. Ernesto de Moraes Leme Neto. seen on this page with Rebecca Dickens, was a new member of the Spanish Club. He Is from Sao Paulo. Brazil, a foreign exchange student staying in the U.S. from mid- December to mid-February. His language Is Portuguese, similar to Spanish. We found this out when he taught us some phrases In Portuguese commonly used by Brazilian teenages, but will not be translated here, for obvious reasons. He made many friends during his stay here at BHS, and we hope that he will come back and visit us from time to time. This year some members of the Club have hoped to go to Mexico, so we began our money-making. We sold orange drink and doughnuts in the mornings, and various types of Imported candy during the day. Hopefully we will be able to make It to Mexico, but once we're there, we will make sure Kevin keeps his distance from any pinatas hanging in the shops. Rebecca ... Francisco (Aldonza. During the last 3 years students from B.H.S. have been able to catch the school bus at 7:45 A.M. to attend DAVC. At DAVC there are many areas in training you may take. The most common among the Bethany students are Cosmetology, Mechanics. Each year there has been an average of 4 students attend. At vocational school you go 5 days a week for 4 hours a day. Nadine Philllppo (substitute) Connie Coriyle Emma Lou Funk The new lunch program showed new highs in the lunch counts. This year our cooks tried a new dish, taco salad. Most of the students enjoyed the changes they made, but we all still like the homemade cinnamon rolls. The cooks' kitchen helpers this year were: Jr. High, Jim Hutchcraft, Drenda Carlyle, and Louis Clark. The High School helpers were Rita Kesterson and Jay Kidwell. Seniors Rita and Jay would like to say good luck to the next years helpers and to be nice to our Connie and Emma Lou. 110 THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP THINGS TOGETHER Mointenonce. Hons Fox Our custodians and maintenance men are a big help in keeping our school together. During the after- noon Ron always had trouble remembering where he put his cleaning cart since if was always being hid from him. Glenda was one to get you out of study hall just to help move things around and then receive a Pepsi as a reward. Hans was one who worked by go- ing to the second hour Shop IV class and talking about the baseball season with the guys. The year wouldn’t have lasted the way it did if they wouldn't have worked together to keep the school going. Custodian.
