Manager: Tom Hower Tom Hower—Tom was this year's Mustang manager. He was the classics dressed manager in the league and a lot of thanks goes to Tom and his help with the team. Chris Stiles—Chris, I felt, was the heart of this fine team. Game in and game out he gave us the steady play we needed to win. He was the best de- fensive player in the league and won our Best Defensive Player award. His loss will be hard for us to overcome as we must find a new leader. MERIDIAN CHAMPS Coach: Randy Inman Our 1979-1980 Mustangs were definitely ready for the 80's as we compiled a perfect 11-0 record in the tough Meridian Conference. We also finished 21- 4 which included a nice 19 game winning streak. We accomplished these feats by working hard every night, playing excellent defense, believing that we were better than the team we faced every night out; and we were as Sister Sledge said a Family . Our players can truly hold their heads high and proclaim I am a winner, I am a MUSTANG! Doug Morris SENIORS Doug Morris—Doug is a competitor from the word go. He provided us with some excellent play coming off the bench. He is a fine rebounder and defensive player. He is a leader and will be missed. Bart Spencer— Instant offensive is the term that best describes Bart. He is an electrifying person who can knock it down from 18 or use in excellent jumping to slam dunk off the break. Bart possessed probably the best over- all tools in the league and was a 2nd team All-Conference and our co. M.V.P. pick. His offensive talents will be hard to replace. Bart Spencer ) 16
