Memories Someday when it is over and we are gone astray we’ll look back in our yearbooks to the memories of today We’ll tell our little children that school was such a blast but forget that we also hated it till it was past Now that our classmates have gone their separate ways we’ll look into our yearbooks and enjoy the good-ole-days. Our Thoughts, Sights and Sounds . . . Memories of the years gone by. The laughter, the tears, behind us now, The future is ours. The people are gone, it’s sum- mer now, Empty footsteps echo, in the abandoned gym. Remembering the excitement of the games, the pride of all the honors. Never more to see any excite- ment, till the next group of people inhabit it. And the excitement begins Again. Marcia Dick The halls are ringing empty now, the voices are all gone. The old abandoned school house sits lonely on the lawn. There are no more classes held. The chalkboards arc all clean. All that’s left are shadows of a part no longer seen. The shadows are of memories, and are still lingering there. To help the students of the past in their future live to fare. Anonymous A Winter Night It was a bitter, cold, winter night. The sky was pitch black, as the stars began to mysterious- ly fade away. Tiny flakes of snow fell on my body that seemed ice cold. The snow on the ground glistened in the bright yellow light that the moon provided. The wind fierce- ly slapped my cheek as it left a hurting sting that made my face turn red. It was hard to keep my balance because the road was like a sheet of ice. Walking along the big fluffy snowdrifts, 1 looked up to the sky and noticed the first rays of sunlight peeking through the clouds for an early morning dawn. Leanne Austin 2
