Senior Class Will WE, the class of 1963, being exceptional in mind and body, do hereby make the follow- ing bequeaths: DAN BREWER leaves his Teddy Bear to any Junior boy who wants to take care of it for him. NANCY BUTT leaves her cheery smile to all those who are down heartened, downcast, downtrodden, and disgusted. To BARB GOETZ goes Don Book's ability to talk--but does Barb really need it? MIKE CARROLL leaves his physique to the o-o-ohs and ah-h-hs of his female followers. GENE COLE wills his books, pencils, and erasers. They are practically unused, so ac- cept them in good faith, Joe McCain. VERL CORDRAY leaves his passes—football, that is--to Dave Walker. LARRY CROWDER gives his cheerful moods and quiet ways to Carol Arthur hoping this will calm her down. VIRGIL DAVIS Leaves his skipping habits (and we don't mean with a rope) to Tom Armer. To GAYLENE FARRIS goes Shirley Ferguson's many jobs, so that Gaylene will keep busy and out of trouble. IMOGENE FITZGERALD leaves school speedily--which in her case isn't! BILL GORDON bequeaths his wrecked Volkswagon, gift wrapped, to all sleepy drivers. Take heed. JOE GUTHRIE leaves his Shades to Buzz Bland, cause a person with glasses on never gets hit. SHIRLEY HAMPTON leaves her rat-tailed comb and ratted hair-do to Steve Edgecombe, a friend in need. LINDA LILLICO wills her load of books and big purses to Connie Miller, who will have to build herself up before she can accept the donation. To KEVIN BOSOMWORTH go Joyce Marshall’s dainty feet. JIM McLAUGHLIN leaves his Robert's Rules of Order to Paul Snyder, who will need it for presiding over next year's senior class TOM McREYNOLDS wills his sense of humor to Jim F. Yarnell, who is a big laugh any- way. MARY ANN ORRIS gives those days of waiting for a new sister to anyone who might be in the same situation someday. ROGER OZEE leaves his pocket comb to brother Larry. Use it as often as Roger does, Larry, and you'll always be neat. PORTER PARSONS wills his parking place to his brother Marty--whichever place he might want. To Jerald Breitman, PHILLIS PAYNE leaves her quiet ways and ability to think before she acts. JERRY REYNOLDS wants to leave his scads and scads and scads of money to all those Juniors who need scads and scads and scads of dough. JEANIE RUTHERFORD leaves her Girl Friday duties in the principal's office to Ruth Ann Jackson. ELAINE SHARP leaves her fat fingers to anyone who will take them off her hands. MARILYN SHARP wills her agility to Susan Reedy. We wouldn't say Susan is uncoordi- nated, but— MIKE SHELTON bequeaths his educational literature to Neal Thitely, who needs that kind of education--or does he? JUDY SMITH leaves her ambition to Shirley Muzzy, who never has enough to do. RANDY SPRINGER leaves a wastebasket full of paper-wads and his dead-eye to Milton Sees. To Oda Payne goes SHARON STINSON'S ability to locate lost books, so Oda will have the privilege of going through desks and lockers trying to find them next year. BUD STOCKS leaves to Kay Moody his figure so Kay will have a more rounded--person- ality. KENNETH SWEENEY leaves Bev Smith another new hair-do. BARBARA WALKER bequeaths her permanent rollers to Marcia Pasley, who has the need but not the desire. DAN WALTON leaves his way with the girls to Sam Scott, if Sam dares to use them. CAROL WARD leaves Martha McReynolds her little black book for future references. JOYCE BUTT leaves her choice recipes to Vicki Creek, who has need of them now. JOHN WARD wills his hard work to all members of the Do-Nothing Club in the Junior Class To Dixie Butt goes BRENDA WARNER'S love of commercial courses in hope that this love will inspire Dixie to succeed. CHERYL WHEELER leaves her Katty remarks to her fine, feathered friend, LINDA BARNES, Who may disregard them. BOB WEST leaves a full tank of gas to Sandy Sanner. This will take Sandy to Chicago, if for any reason she would want to go. JIM WILSON transfers his store of Brownie points to Jerry Garrett, who has lost all of his this past year. EMMAJEAN YOUNGER leaves her taxi service to Joyce Pritts who is starting a pretty good business of her own. Not to forget our Faculty, we make the following bequeaths: We leave Miss Scott hungrily. We leave Miss Breuer quietly. We leave Mr. Syfert sponsoring. We leave Mr. Rogers playing. We leave Miss Creech physically educated. We leave Mrs. Shimp nervously. We leave Mrs. Breitman our themes. We leave Mr. Jarand explosively. We leave Mr. Patton confused. We leave Mr. Hutton a square—a solid one, that is. We leave Mr. Bosomworth sheepishly. We leave Coach Dell nuttily. We leave Mrs. Dansby unwillingly. We leave Mr. Spence and Mr. Overlot our best wishes for a good Senior trip. We leave Mr. Michaels sadly. We leave Mr. Mitchell historically. We leave Miss Young grammatically. We leave Mrs. Shepard sweetly. We leave Charlie complainingly. We leave Mr. Hightower with a book on How to Swing and Sway by Sammy Kaye. We leave Sharon and Mrs. Russell our bills and receipts. We leave to the talking magic box a supply of throat medicine, so that the 'May we have your attention, please ' may be loud and clear. We dedicate to the new school building our class picture—in the new hall. Last, but not least, we, the class of '63, make our last bequeath. To the deserving Juniors, we leave our fine minds, our great leaders, our good grades, our humble smiles, our outstanding talents, our musical genius, our great sense of humor, etc., etc., etc. Linda Barnes Joyce Pritts Juniors Carol Arthur Kevin Bosomworth Ruth Jackson Joe McCain Connie Miller Juniors Oda Payne Paul Snyder Shirley Muzzy Susan Reedy Milton Sees Dave Walker Marcia Pasley Sandy Sanner Beverly Smith Neal Whitely Sophomores Billie Goetz President Dick Lamb Vice-President Lynda Dick Secretary Connie Sanner Treasurer Eddie McCorvie Reporter Larry Ascherman Sam Book Linda Bruce Larry Carlock Clyde Carlyle Chuck Collins Jane Cook Bob Davis Everett Dowdell Sue Ekiss Danny Evans Sophomores James Green Sandy Fox Terry Funk David Gaither Bill Holland Carol Jostes Robert Green Pat Hudson V Don Krause George Ledbetter Linda Kelly Rose Kirkwood Sandra Mathias Paula Moon Mike Orris Sophomores Aaron Patient Imogene Pritts Carrol Ray Lynda Reedy Danny Robinson Loran Settle Dianne Shelton Linda Smith Susan Smith Ann Stocks David Tips word Debbie Vanatta « - av V •-V v; r wm Jim L. At our first class meeting the following officers were chosen: Elaine Sharp, president; Jeanie Rutherford, vice-president; Pat Emrick, secretary; Marilyn Sharp, treasurer; Randall Springer, reporter; Barbara Walker and Jim Wilson, Student Council; and Miss Breuer and Mr. Glaser, sponsors. During the year there were many activities in which we participated. Our Homecoming Queen and King candidates were Jeanie Rutherford and Dan Brewer. We received first place on our float and second place on our decorated window. At the beginning of our Sophomore year forty-seven confident students again began an- other term. Upon checking roll we discovered that Kenneth Butt had become a dropout and Judy Hogg had transferred. To replace these two losses Imogene Fitzgerald and Lonnie Coslow were added to the roll. Linda Ishee and Raymond Stansbury were with us a short time before they transferred. Pat Emrick quit school to get married. The officers of the Sophomore year were: Marilyn Sharp, president; Mike Shelton, vice-president; Joyce Marshall, secretary; Jim McLaughlin, treasurer; Cheryl Wheeler, reporter; Barbara Walker and Jim Wilson, Student Council; Miss Breuer and Mr. Utterback, sponsors. Our queen and king candidates were Elaine Sharp and Mike Shelton. Our float received a fourth place but our window display received a first place rating. The officers elected for our junior year were: Jim McLaughlin, president; Porter Parsons, vice-president; Randall Springer, secretary; John Ward, treasurer; Gene Cole, reporter; Joyce Marshall, Imogene Fitzgerald, John Ward, and Jim Wilson, Student Council; Mr. Patton and Mr. Syfert, sponsors. During the summer Joan Conley moved to Pennsylvania; Dan Walton enrolled in the class. Our Queen and King Candidates were Mary Orris and Dan Walton, and for the first time we won. Our float received third place and our window received third place. Our Junior Class play, Mary's Big Lamb , was presented April 6, 1962. It was a real success thanks to our feminine actor, Gene Cole. On May 18, 1962, we gave a prom for the gradua- ting seniors of 1962. The officers elected for our Senior year were: Jim McLaughlin, president; Jim Wilson, vice-president; Dan Brewer, secretary; John Ward, treasurer; Linda Lillico, reporter; Imogene Fitzgerald, Cheryl Wheeler, Elaine Sharp, Dan Walton, Jim Wilson, Student Council; with Mr. Overlot and Mr. Spence being sponsors. Two of our members, Joyce Stout and Lonnie Coslow, left us at the first of the year. Joyce Butt, Roger Ozee and Joe Guthrie joined us. Our Queen and King candidates this year were Cheryl Wheeler and Porter Parsons. For the second year in a row we won. Our float received second place and our window display a first place. Papa Makes Good , the Junior-Senior play, was presented on April 5, 1963. On May 11, 1963 the Junior Class gave us a prom. To climax our four years in high school, we received our diplomas from the president of the school board on May 27. Our class conducted its own commencement program. Members of the class who presented musical numbers were Elaine Sharp, Jim McLaughlin, Gene Cole, Shirley Hampton, Cheryl Wheeler, Marilyn Sharp, Jeanie Rutherford, Sharon Stinson, Joe Guthrie, and Randall Springer. The entire class pre- sented two chorus numbers. Three seniors, Linda Lillico, Dan Walton, and Elaine Sharp, presented essays they had written. The last class activity was the Senior Trip May 31-June 8 to New York and Washington, D. C.
