Settian, (co t ’t) Our third term started with twenty one members and our leaders were: President-Jack Coventry, Vice President-Nancy Robinson and Joan Tohill, Secretary-Lewis Crane, Treasurer-Marjorie McReynolds Reporter-Cherie Younger, Guards-Mr. Jostes and Mr. Jennings. The following were charged with: Majorettes-Cherie Younger and Shirley Wheeler. Student Council Members- Nancy Tinnea, Irma Bland, and Marjorie McReynolds and Jack Cutler. Cheerleaders-Joan Tohill, Gene Tohill, Irma Bland, and Janet Puyear. On April 17, someone crept in with a Junior Play called Finders Creepers. It was directed by Mr. Jostes. The Junior-Senior prom was held at Kempers Country Club in Decatur. Paroled were: Beverly Davis and Nancy Tinnea, who moved to Texas with her husband. Starting out last term we had 19 members and our leaders were: President-Lewis Crane, Vice President-Gene Tohill, Secretary-Bill Boros, Treasurer-Jack Cutler, Reporter-Cherie Younger, Guards-Miss Brown and Mr. Jennings. The following were charged with: Majorettes-Cherie Younger and Shirley Wheeler. Student Council Members- Marjorie McReynolds, Sharon Heckler, and Jack Cutler. Cheerleaders - Joan Tohill, Irma Bland, Janet Puyear and Ilene Queen. The Senior Play Who Wouldn't be Crazy was directed by Miss Brown. The Junior-Senior prom was May 7 at the Y. M. C. A. Commencement was held on May 26. These are the facts, man, just the facts on the class of 1955. THE CASE HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF '55 In the fall of 1951, 24 of the freshmen gang entered the gates of Bethany High for a term of 4 years. The leaders of this gang were: President-Bill Boros, Vice President-Ilene Queen, Secretary-Marjorie McReynolds, Treasurer - Joan Tohill, Reporter-Sharon Heckler, Guard-Mr. Davis. The following were charged with: Majorettes-Cherie Younger, Shirley Wheeler, and Irma Bland. Student Council Members-Cherie Younger and Jack Coventry. During this time Harry Bennett entered on a charge of moving from Bement to Bethany and Gene Lewis was paroled because of ill health. During our second term, our sophomore year, we elected the following leaders: President-Jack Coventry, Vice President-Gene Tohill, Secretary-Jack Cutler, Treasurer-Janet Puyear, Reporter-Cherie Younger, Guard-Mr. Jarand. The following were sentenced for: Majorettes-Cherie Younger, Shirley Wheeler, and Irma Bland. Student Council Members-Nancy Robinson and Jack Cutler. Cheerleaders-Barbara Morey, Joan Tohill, and Janet Puyear. Those paroled were: Rose Marie Creek, who moved to Sullivan, Homer Parris, who joined the Air Force, Melvin Utsler and Sam Kidwell. Those entering were: Jack CutleT, Nancy Robinson, and Betty Armer. Those married were: Barbara Morey to Walter Dalton and Joanne Gregory to Lee Livengood. 11

HARRY BENNETT wills his way of getting along with teachers to Chester Betzer, who always goofs. IRMA BLAND wills her stubborn way of arguing to Judy Brown, who, from the looks of her brothers, needs it. BILL BOROS wills his ability to be early to bed and late for school to Don Gerkin, and Don, don't forget the poor excuses. JACK COVENTRY wills his gentlemanly charms to T. L. Sheehan, whose charms are not always gentlemanly. LEWIS CRANE wills his magic touch to perk things up (mechanically speaking) to Bodo (Howard Brown), who never touches but always clobbers. JACK CUTLER wills his way with the women (cold natured) to Dean Puyear, who needs to be slowed down. SHARON HECKLER wills her tumbling technique to Jean Elder, try it sometime, Jean. LLOYD HERENDEEN wills his position on the drugstore corner to Gene Marshall, who is second in position. MARJORIE McREYNOLDS wills her thin waistline to Mary Jo Scott. WAYNE McREYNOLDS wills his basketball ability to Paul Windell, who has the will but is still looking for the way. JANET PUYEAR wills her way to a front position before the mirror to anyone who can beat Judy Clark and Joyce Brown. ILENE QUEEN'S baby talk to the opposite sex is will- ed to Nancy Pettypool. Make use of it, Nancy. PAUL QUEEN wills all of the meat in his arms, legs, and shoulders, to Ronnie Garrett, who is going to need it in football. JOHNNY SMITH wills his little Chevie and money for oil and gas to Eddie Tucker, who needs a way to pick up his girl friends. GENE TOHILL wills his special charm for out of town flames to Arkansas. Don't get discouraged, Arky. JOAN TOHILL wills her jaw and gum popping ability to Janet Yakey, who is a little more tight-lipped. JERRY WARD wills his false teeth to Joe Scribner in case he needs them after another season of football. SHIRLEY WHEELER wills her wisecracks and all that goes with it to Janet Barnes.
