THE CASE HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF '55 In the fall of 1951, 24 of the freshmen gang entered the gates of Bethany High for a term of 4 years. The leaders of this gang were: President-Bill Boros, Vice President-Ilene Queen, Secretary-Marjorie McReynolds, Treasurer - Joan Tohill, Reporter-Sharon Heckler, Guard-Mr. Davis. The following were charged with: Majorettes-Cherie Younger, Shirley Wheeler, and Irma Bland. Student Council Members-Cherie Younger and Jack Coventry. During this time Harry Bennett entered on a charge of moving from Bement to Bethany and Gene Lewis was paroled because of ill health. During our second term, our sophomore year, we elected the following leaders: President-Jack Coventry, Vice President-Gene Tohill, Secretary-Jack Cutler, Treasurer-Janet Puyear, Reporter-Cherie Younger, Guard-Mr. Jarand. The following were sentenced for: Majorettes-Cherie Younger, Shirley Wheeler, and Irma Bland. Student Council Members-Nancy Robinson and Jack Cutler. Cheerleaders-Barbara Morey, Joan Tohill, and Janet Puyear. Those paroled were: Rose Marie Creek, who moved to Sullivan, Homer Parris, who joined the Air Force, Melvin Utsler and Sam Kidwell. Those entering were: Jack CutleT, Nancy Robinson, and Betty Armer. Those married were: Barbara Morey to Walter Dalton and Joanne Gregory to Lee Livengood. 11

Settian, (co t ’t) Our third term started with twenty one members and our leaders were: President-Jack Coventry, Vice President-Nancy Robinson and Joan Tohill, Secretary-Lewis Crane, Treasurer-Marjorie McReynolds Reporter-Cherie Younger, Guards-Mr. Jostes and Mr. Jennings. The following were charged with: Majorettes-Cherie Younger and Shirley Wheeler. Student Council Members- Nancy Tinnea, Irma Bland, and Marjorie McReynolds and Jack Cutler. Cheerleaders-Joan Tohill, Gene Tohill, Irma Bland, and Janet Puyear. On April 17, someone crept in with a Junior Play called Finders Creepers. It was directed by Mr. Jostes. The Junior-Senior prom was held at Kempers Country Club in Decatur. Paroled were: Beverly Davis and Nancy Tinnea, who moved to Texas with her husband. Starting out last term we had 19 members and our leaders were: President-Lewis Crane, Vice President-Gene Tohill, Secretary-Bill Boros, Treasurer-Jack Cutler, Reporter-Cherie Younger, Guards-Miss Brown and Mr. Jennings. The following were charged with: Majorettes-Cherie Younger and Shirley Wheeler. Student Council Members- Marjorie McReynolds, Sharon Heckler, and Jack Cutler. Cheerleaders - Joan Tohill, Irma Bland, Janet Puyear and Ilene Queen. The Senior Play Who Wouldn't be Crazy was directed by Miss Brown. The Junior-Senior prom was May 7 at the Y. M. C. A. Commencement was held on May 26. These are the facts, man, just the facts on the class of 1955.
