Your Father ' s Mustache entertained students and their parents on Fall Parents ' Weekend. Spring Weekend brought a rash of concerts to campus. The Star Spangled Washboard Band performed a combination of country, blue grass and rock here for the second time in three years. Overland Express (opposite, lower left) and M eisburg and Walters (lower right) were featured that Saturday night. 28

THEATRE TOUTS TALENT The Bethany College Theatre provided a mix of serious, com- ical and musical productions to delight Bethany audiences during the 1977-78 season. The season began with Trial By |ury, a musical featuring a number of Bethany alumni. The Parents ' Weekend presenta- tion was You Can ' t Take It With You, with Tory Tolley and Michael Huskins as the parents. Another family play, Hay Fever, portrayed the wacky and bliss-less Bliss family with Fran McDormand and John Sayers as the heads of the crazy clan. Communications professor Mark Stevenson highlighted The Harmfulness of Tobacco, while Michael Fluskins, Beth Geis- mann and Peter Jensen performed The Proposal the same night. A night of one-act plays opened the spring semester. The Great Big Doorstep showed the dreams of a family that lived in a shack but had found their mansion doorstep in the nearby river. Tim Thompson and Lisa DeFuso held the leads. The season ended with Of Thee I sing, a musical about a presidential campaign with a platform of one word, Love. THE GREAT BIG DOORSTEP 27
