'FE-Zfa x' as-:ev German students enjoy singing German folk songs. Bonjour mes amias! Many early afternoon class periods begin with these French greetings. Although the French class had a surprising- ly small enrollment, it was the scene of many happy experiences as the eight pupils covered French grammar and learned to parle le francais Qspeak Frenchj. The singing of French songs was often a treat and a change from the drudgery of grammar as the small class tried to make the classroom ring with such songs as Freres Jacques and Sur le pont d'Avigon. By the time class ended, all were ready to say, Au revoir and be on their way. Once the French club was organized, it became a scene of friendly French games and the singing of many French favorites. This years' German classes were both twice as large as last year. The German I students struggled through an extensive grammar and vocabulary section, and came out feeling as though they were true Germans. IMMENSEE was one of the German literary works that the German II students read and studied. They also reviewed the grammar that had become stale during the summer and spent much time broadening their German vocabulary. The German club spent many delightful hours together this year. Christmas caroling in German and giving German programs were the main highlights during the year. E.. s.-A-ln! . 'inf' French conversation flows freely at a party. FOREIGN LANGUAGES Spanish folk songs, poems, hymns, and even a few jokes high-lighted all Spanish classes. This past year conversational Spanish, a new approach, was stressed in most classes. ln previous years the main emphasis was on grammar. This year for the first time there was a Spanish III class consisting of four consecrated students. Spanish literature and grammar were their basic study. The Spanish Il class learned the subjunctive mood and the culture of the Spanish world. The two Spanish I classes learned to speak Spanish very effectively. Our Spanish club has increased in size this past year and we had large turn-outs for Christmas caroling, a pinata party, Spanish supper and our an nual trip to Chicago. Compliments of DR. EDWARD EICHENBERGER D.D.S. lC0m0 C-Sta ustedo Wakarusa, Indiana

General Business class proves to be a bit trying at times. , -,fs.-.fm--1 Q-.three-X -s.f . I . f ' Now what was that squiggle for? COMMERCE DEPARTMENT The Business Education department moved into new rooms at the beginning of the school year. The typing room contains both electric and manual typewriters, and an adjoining room holds various business machines. Much of the equipment in these rooms is new. Courses in bookkeeping, general business, and of- fice practice, taught by Mr. Devon Miller, acquaint the student with basic business procedures, while Typing I and II and shorthand prepare the student to become a more capable assistant to business executives. The skills and methods taught in these classes will help the student in his own personal life even if he does not pursue a business career. Compliments of WILLARD S. KRABIILL, M.D. JOHN M, BENDER, M,D, G. WELDON TROYER, M.D. 110 W. High Park Goshen, Ind.
