Faculty, Board of Directors, Parents, and friends. We the Class of 59 wish to express our deep appreciation to you for making Bethany Christian High School possible. Six years ago it was onlya dream, but thanks to your help and co-operation this dream has turned into a reality. You have made this school not only a place of secular education, but also a place where spiritual truths have become the deep convictions of many sincere young people. It is with a certain degree of sadness that we leave this institute of learning, some of us to go on to college to receive a higher education, but others will depend on these twelve years to carry them on through life. Therefore, it is our aim to serve God and humanity in every way possible and thereby make this world a better place in which to live. Mr. Culp, Sponsorg Mr. Holaway, Co-Sponsor. The first day at Bethany left many pleasant memories embedded inthe minds of the thirty-eight freshmen starring their high school work here. Sure, there were times when we d.idn't know if we were at the right places at the right time, but that did not matter. Everything always turned out for the good. Our first class party was a Halloween party at the school, and of course everyone had fun. We have chosen greenand white for our class colors. All of us want to sincerely thank the faculty and other students for making our freshman year so enjoyable. SUPERINTENDENTS MESS AGE Upon the pages of this book you will be able to take a glimpse at the varied and many activities of Bethany , It is our hopeyouwill not only become better acquainted with the teachers and pupils of the school, but that you may be able to gain insight into the inner spiritual life, concerns and ideals of our student body. Inner victories of the soul, greater visions for service, and changed lives cannot be shown in print. In a greater sense, what has happened to many students in Bethany can only be measured in eternity. Therefore, this book shall become more endearing with the passing years. Sincerely, John S. They are to guide the other committees in their duties, study and revise the Constitu- tion as necessity demands, and interest the students in its activities and welfare. This duty was begun by taking a gift to a former student who had a misfortune. During the year we sang periodically for shut-ins and had d ts ive programs in various churches on Sunday even- stu en g ings. At Christmas time, an all-school Christmas Caroling was planned and gifts were made to give to the people for whom we sang. We also provided ushers for the MYF Conven- tion. Each committee member hopes that every student received a blessing as they participated in these ways. 6'-PVICQ C A if 47 X f ff -1, ' 1-in MARTIN DECORATORS Phone 569, New Paris Rt. 5, Goshen, Indiana V 71 I 'Y if fir : J ' VA. 11166 t 60mm QUADG' CARL'S COFFEE CUP 103 North Fifth Street Goshen, Indiana Dave Sudermann Marcia Kauffman . . This is one of many ways in which students can serve Christ. Student topics were the predominating element in the Thurs- day chapel. There were also skits, hymn-sings, panel dis- cussions and debates. The committee is grateful for fine co-operation received from students. 72 ME E TING ll ' IUUAV Ing., ,L I. P. Wenger . . . . . Another important project was that of assigning students the task of writing letters to our sister schools. The answers to these letters were then printed in the REFLECTOR. This proved to be an interesting and informative project. 73 ty C0m KOHLER AND CHAMPION Mens' Wear Goshen Gospel Team Trip 43 5 ig Q N I X sim My K .:Lv. ' .-.x , 'iifWq ' V .ra X G 1 7? r,... ..
