Dear Graduates: ln selecting motion as your theme, you define it as constant movement. You show its application to life, the Jew, the study of Torah, etc. There is yet another area involving motion, encompassing, perhaps, all those you mention. That area is your education. Education may be defined as the sum of one's experiences in life. It does not be- gin in the first grade nor does it end at graduation. It precedes school and goes beyond all phases of formal schooling. The host of school experiences, however, may strengthen some early childhood conceptions and may negate other ideas as infantile and unrealistic. School experiences are constantly broadening and reshap- ing one's outlook on life. Although formal schooling is but a small phase of one's overall education, it is, nevertheless, an important phase. The wise student, understanding the value of schooling, utilizes his time intelligently. He draws from the endless well of his teachers' teachings, knowing that each experience contains knowledge more price- less than gems. No moment passes by without gain and achievement. The fool, on the other hand, whiles away his time accomplishing nothing. I sincerely wish each of you the wisdom to make each moment count. May your life be one of constant forward motion in the path of our jewish heritage and tradi- tion . RABBI EMANUEL SCHWARTZ Principal 19
