l AN EDlToR's LAMENT Being a yearbook editor ls great, one would thinkg But it has its many drawbacks, It can drive one to drink. A class of constant complainers, Daily they moan to her face: This isn't the way WE want it, Our book will be a disgrace. The voice of our principal Keeps ringing in her ear: How long do you think we have, Until this time next year? The girls imagine that she is Nothing more than a copy machine. She's human! She can take just so much. When vexed, she'll yell and scream. Although she's threatened to quit No one's really cared, Most girls seemed to think Everything she did was unfair. ATN' QB f 0 Q Aft fl o A I X fn W., Two more days to the deadline! Is the editor's constant cry. Nothing has been handed in. Can she wonder why? A group besieges her, saying: Look what we have for youg Not one, but three compositions, Typewritten and spaced by two. They all expect medals And praise clear up to the sky. But they discover later Their work was just a good try. Amazingly, all the work gets done When the deadline date is due And as some miracle from heaven By March, the work is all through. The tiffs and fights are all over, There's nothing left to do But to wait in anxious anticipation For the final draft to come through. lt's worth all the aggravation When the book is not belated. What a wonderful feeling it is When the task is appreciated. TOBIE GUTNICKI
