I I . . , ' A Class History It was lust about twelve years ago that most of our class furst came to know each other Thus meetung took place un the furst grades of our school At furst we were shy but we began to feel more sure of ourselves as we advanced un age and went unto hugher grades ln the fufth grade we really began to feel BIG when we took a trup to Raleugh as a class Later on that year most of us went to the movues to see So Dear to My Heart There were many tears shed Durung the suxth seventh and eughth grades we really learned the meanung of hard work Our number of subuects uncreased and became more duffucult but somehow we made ut and reached By the tume we reached our Freshman year some of our classmates had moved away but others moved un to round out our curcle Thus was not only one of our more excutung years of school but ut was also one of the most confusung years Durung our ftrst two years of hugh school we began to show our talents Our boys and gurls excelled un football basketball and softball Frank Phullups Ruley Montgomery Tracy Gruffun and Wakelon Morruson helped us to wun the champuon shup un football Johnny Oakes racked up many baskets un basketball and Kay Allen became one of the more valuable players on the softball team The players on the gurls basketball team showed a wuse chouce when they chose Betty Chrustdon as theur captain In our Junuor year we became busy wuth plans for the Junuor Senuor banquet We had a lovely tume at the Starmount Forest Country Club We decorated the room wuth sulver horseshoes The theme was good bye and good luck It was a nught we wull never forget Then came the day to measure for class rungs After sendung off our orders we wauted breath lessly for the maulman to knock on our door Funally the excutung package wuth our rungs un ut came and we walked around for weeks wuth our hands extended for every one to see our new rungs As Senuors we have been very busy wuth our dufferent Senuor Actuvutues We chose these worthy classmates as Senuor Class Offucers Tracy Gruffun Presudent Ruley Montgomery Vuce Presudent Nancy ta ry We thought that Dan Meetze Connue Rhodes June Wyruck Larry Wulson Larry lngle Frankue Ledbetter Sandra Hunt June Hauthcock Raymond Caudle Frank Phullups Ruley Montgomery proved to be essentual actors and actresses un the Dra matucs Club play The Ghost Parade thus year In our Senuor year we have already taken a trup to the Parkway un our new actuvuty bus and are antucupatung a trup to Washungton the Junuor Senuor banquet and funally graduatuon As we graduate thus year each of us wull go our separate ways treasurung our school days at Bessemer and keepung our motto Knowledge comes but Wusdom lungers forever un our hearts By BOBBIE ANDREWS 1 II Il . , ' ' - , .
