We didnt know the class had a comedian but Lowery McHenry proved his ability to bring in the laughs and consequently brought in second prize This about covered our sophomore year for me had barely begun to settle down when we had the task of selecting our class rings We left school in June all excited over the coming year when we would not be bable but JUNIORS' OLR JUNIOR YEAR Juniors' What a glorious feeling it was getting revenge on the new crop of sophomores durmg 1n1t1at1on But we soon settled down and chose our comedian Lowery McHenry to preside over our class with Nancy Whitmlre assisting ,loan Dockey again handled the pencil chores and Conm Serlff the money Once again our boys walked off with nine wms and two losses in football While the glrls were busy checklng coats and selling refreshments to build up the class treasury many of the junior boys were adding to our speed and power on the basketball floor Since the juniors took an active part ln everything it was not surprising to find many of them cast in the plays Our MISS Brooks and Room For One More Once again we captured second honors in the variety show which was our version of an old fashioned mlnstrel Then came the flurry of presentlng to the seniors a really beautiful prom which they deserved The Eagles Ball Room was rented and decoratlons matched the theme Blue Moon Jack Melton s orchestra added to the divine evening of our Junior Senior prom ln ,lune 1952 we had something special to look forward to maintaining a reputation as seniors of B H S . . Olll SICYIOR Ylfvtlt We didnit look or feel any different when we hegan school in Septemher 1952, but we were. for we were SlQNlUll5l Soon we were hack in the swing again and election day found Lowery Nlellenry in the driveris seat with ,loan lloekev next to him for assistanee. The details of seeretarv and treasurer were left to Bernice Tim- lvrell and Nlac Mover. Our school paper and vearltook were in the Capahle hands of Philoniena Silvers. :Xnn Yanko. and Nlarilyn Nliller. Our advisers informed us of the work that would lie needed to finance our yearhook so we opened the footlvall stands. It was work. hut none of us minded it nor would we have missed the fun that went with it. While some of us ran the stands our hovs were out on the gridiron fighting under the direetion of our new eoaehl joseph Colone. We had a good team although the assistance of Clem Corona. who was recovering from an operation. was missed. A 1-hill went through us 'lilianlisgiving llav that wasnit eaused luv the weather hut to the fact that this last game we would participate in as students of B. ll. 5. During Decemher we managed to hoost our treasury to the final goal hy selling magazines and what super-duper salesmen we had! Again we turned out three plays among them Riddle Nle lliehesf, which received more eoniment than any play had received in several years. As the second semester rolled around, we chose our elass eolors. poem. motto, song. an lower and poser or our e ass pictures.
