MUSIC This year more of the students are taking ad- vantage of the organ instruction that is being provided for those that desire it. Those enrolled are: Jeanette Cooley, Connie Bredbenner, Linda Hess, Nancy Wright, June Villa, Ruth Carrathers. Hughes Hunsinger, Nancy Kline, John Krug, Barbara Hunsinger, Alberta Michalek, James Topper, Helen Kovach. Neil Smith, and Ann Boyek, who may be seen practicing at the right. Janet Sherman, accompanist for the Girls' Glee Club is shown at the right. Janet is a sophomore. Erma B. Splain is the organ instruc- tor. Each Thursday and Friday Mrs. Splain instructs each student for twenty- five minutes. Every pupil is given a per- iod per weelgfor practice. The music which is studied varies. It may include popular music, classical and semi-classical music, and hymns. At the left Mrs. Splain is shown instructing James Topper.

The librarian instructs all students on the use of library materials-the card catalog, the information file, magazine indexes, and reference books. At the right, Mrs. Tearpock, librarian, is instructing students in the use of the card catalog. LIBRARY The school library is a student workshop. It contains 5,200 books covering material on all sub- jects taught and has seating room for 50 students. Thirty periodicals and two newspapers are avail- able for students to read. Back issues of these are kept for five years for reference purposes. At the left Gerald Hittle is selecting a magazine to read while he is in the library. At the left library assistants may be seen working at the charging desk During this term 26 students worked in the library for two periods each week. These students shelve books, check libr- -I .95 aryattendance, help other students, and perform many other tasks.
