Text from Pages 1 - 120 of the 1969 volume:

Alma Mater Hail to thee our Alma Mater Hail to Bertram High, Loyal hearts in us are beating Loyal till we die See the colors proudly flowing Dear Maroon and White, While we're marching on victorious While the Panther's fight. Praise the chorus speed it onward Praise her to the sky, Hail to thee our Alma Mater Hail to Bertram High. I 2 3 Dedication We, the 69 Panther Staff, proudly dedicate this annual to Mr. Darrell Montgomery. He has devoted his time to the Ag boys and has been a friend to all. He has taught at Bertram since 1961 and has become a great influence. 4 ADMINISTRATION Superintendent Students, a learned man does not become that way overnight. He works constantly to improve. The man who thinks he can is the man who will learn. To do this we must ignore petty grievances and challenge ourselves by studying and working to improve ourselves a little each day. It takes faith in yourself, in your fellow man, and in God to make you a useful citizen. We ask no more than you examine the great task which has been given you. Examine it rationally, evaluate it clearly and work, work hard to do it well. BILL L. FARMER B.A. Howard Payne M.Ed. Howard Payne Principal As we look back over this year’s activities, one needs to stop and look to see if we have accom- plished what we started out at the beginning of school. To see if we as students and teachers have put into our work and play our utmost to be the best in what we are doing. I think in most cases we have found that we did accomplish what we set out to do. In a lot of activities we did more. I think if we can put our accomplishments in one big activity it is the idea that we increased our PRIDE. That is self-pride, team-pride, and school-pride, and after all this is truly one of the most important accom- plishments we could achieve. To our Seniors I want to wish you the best in your lives; and to you Juniors, Sophomores, Fresh- men, Eighth and Seventh Grades, I leave with you the challenge to do even more in your remaining years in school.
