'I ' in A K - On september l l9h7, twenty flve green freshmen entered the halls of le rnine at Berryton High School Several days after school started we elected the followlng class offlcers to guide us safely throuvh our first ye r President Ivan Lewis Vice President John Smith Secretary Barbara Reynolds Treasurer Norman Allen Student Council Shirley alden Norman Allen Sponsor Mrs Delome Rogers Shortly after school started we were initiated he luckily got by with one day of this and we were then full fledved Buffaloes Durinv that year we lost four members of the class, Betty Jo Smith, Leon Swagger, Vlola Desque, and Lola Hermann When we came back to school in the fall of 19 3, we found that we were more experlenced and not the babies of the scnool any more we gained two new classmates, Leo Bidinger and Dean Smith, but Dean soon left us Our class enrollment was then twenty four The officers elected for our sophomore year were as follows President Norman Allen Vice President Ivan Lewis Secretary Shirley Valden Treasurer Richard Figgs student Council Barbara Reynolds Myron Braum Bouncer Leland Kunard sponsor Mrs Delome Rogers Late in the year we gained Perl Pickens, and lost Hayward Ellis Our Junlor year opened wlth an enrollment of twenty three We gain ed one nev classmate, Rl Dana Langley The officers chosen for this year were President Barbara Reynolds Vice President Clinton Vulfkuhle Secretary Nancy Dickson Treasurer Shirley Malden Student Council Evelyn Ecord Norman Allen Sponsor Mrs Helen Pugh The year's high lights were receiving our class rings, present ing our play, 'Brides To Burn , and the banquet in honor of e seniors, at the Kansas Hotel During the year we lost one student, Richard Figgs In 1950 we started our last year of school with an enrollment of only nineteen We had lost Nancy Dickson, Carol Edwards, Dorene Nurren, and Clinton Julfkuhle For the last time we elected as our class officers President Shirley Walden Vice President Myron Braum Secretary Evelyn Ecord Treasurer Leo Bidinger Student Council Barbara Reynolds . . . . . . . . . .Norman Allen Sponsor MP. One of the highlights of the year was a game played with Pickett High of St. Joe, Missouri. The game was broad- cast over station KRES. Another high point was the annual Homecoming. Lorel Cox was Honorary Captain, Barbara Reynolds was Queen. The co- captains were Bobby aalden and Rex Rainey.
